Firstly you need to check the fireing, and the fuel delivery, before replacing any parts. Then a scaning should help reveel the fault. If you know that the Fuel filter is ok.

I have 2 issues presently I hope someone has answers to. 1) engine dies when throttle accelerated 2) when engaging into gear engine dies Any great wisdom out there to help? Thanks

Hi Joe:
Don't know about the wisdom bit, but Old Dude experience I've got some of.
Some info about the vehicle would help but here's something to start with.
When you accelerate throttle, you provide more air which creates a lean condition, so they invented accelerator pumps that squirt extra gas into the venturi to prevent the stall.

I'd start out by draining and cleaning the carb. Use air and gently blow out all of the bits. Some spray carb cleaner can help, and products like "sea foam" are great for removing nasties.

Keep me advised by using the "comment" section and I'll do what I can as things evolve.

Diesel loss of power

check and change the fuel filters including the water filter.. If you are using a bio diesel then don't. Check and bleed any air out of the pump and lines. check that the air valve on top of the tank is clean and allowing the tank to vent and not get a vacuum. Check for a moss like substance in the tank as it will seriously affect the diesel and injectors. Basically It sounds as if the pump is starving for fuel from a blockage or air in the system.

In park the engine dies; only will run if given gas

It sounds like there is a problem with the Idle Air Control (IAC) valve. Its job is to open and let air into the manifold when the throttle is closed at idle. If it does not open, the engine dies at idle. The IAC is mounted on the throttle body. Possibly the valve is clogged or stuck, in which case it could be ok again if it is removed and cleaned. Or it is broken, and needs to be replaced. Or, there is a problem with its electrical connection, that needs to be traced. Good luck, let me know if you have any questions.

Fuel/accelerator problems. dies when accelating or at idle. runs when accelerator held in one position for a short while.

CHECK THE IDLE SPEED SENSOR, UNPLUG IT AND SEE IF THE VEHICLE REVS UP A BIT. IF IT DOES, THEN REPLACE IT. ALSO CHECK THE FUEL PUMP RELAY IN THE FUSEBOX. HOPE THIS HELPS. .LET ME KNOW. GOOD LUCK

Vehicle dies while driving-no acceleration possible

TRY CHECKING THE WIRE CONNECTORS ON THE PCM WHICH IS LOCATED ON THE PASSENGER SIDE FIREWALL. IT HAS THREE LARGE MULTI-WIRE CONNECTORS HELD IN PLACE BY THREE BOLTS. WIGGLE THE CONNECTORS WHILE TIGHTENING THE BOLTS CAREFULLY SO AS NOT TO BREAK THE FRAGILE PLASTIC ENDS. HOPE THIS SOLVES THE PROBLEM. KEEP ME POSTED PLEASE. THANKS FOR USING FIX-YA. GOOD LUCK

Also you might check the Throttle Position Sensor. They could also cause this problem.

Please contact me if your problem presists.
