Some does require whole replacement of switches and this i would reccomend if ones gone might as well replace others
but some vehicles have a seperate single switch so its 50/50 chance of which one you have

My 2005 chevrolet cavalier window will go down but not up only on driver's side what do you think the problem is. i can not hear the motor humming when it does this

at the switch verify you have power one side of the switch is up the other side is down. If you have power for down you probably have power for up the contacts get dirty but you have more than one, one switch in the central cluster and one on the door try them both. this will indicate the bad one one of the tricks i use is. Apply power the the regulator watch the function then switch the power. is it slillm only goes down its the regulator

My driverside window goes down and wont go up

If you never have worked on a car or inside a door,
then a repair shop

I would say if it goes down, it works, at least the motor
That leaves a failed switch in the up position or broken
window regulator

Passenger side window won't roll up using the driver's side switc

Before you replace anything, inspect the connector pins in both the driver's door switch and the passenger door switch. If you don't find any problem with these connector pins, replace the driver's door control switch.

Switch needs to be replaced. Its a common problem and isnt that difficult to replace. Once you get the door panel off, its pretty much unplug the old one and plug those wires into the new one

Rear Passenger Window (Drivers Side) will not go down

Hello, To check to see if its the motor or the switch is simple. Turn the ignition switch on and turn off all noise making things, radio etc. Open your door that has the problem and operate the window switch while you have your ear against the door panel. Listen carefully, you should hear a slight click as you operate the switch. Make sure that the child lock is not on. If you hear it click, the window switch is good and the motor is bad. If it doesn't click, the switch is bad.
If the motor clicks but has no movement you will need to replace it. It comes as an assembly with the regulator. You can not buy the motor separately.
You do not need to take to a dealer for repair but whoever does it needs to know these cars.
I hope this helps.
