Code po452 on 2005 dodge stratus

po452 indicates an issue with the nvld valve. it is located above the fuel tank, in order to test this you will need a hand vaccum pump, and and a multimeter if you look at the canister there will be a standard vaccum line and a vent tube wich will be larger, the vent tube needs to be blocked off, and the vaccum pump will need to be hooked up to the vaccum line. Next the meter will need to be inserted into the harness coming from the switch (orange wire).(''t''pins from wal mart sewing department may be helpful here). Keep the harness hooked up key on engine off, when vaccum is applied (about 1 hg on the gauge) the voltage should start at 12 volts and drop to 0 volts if operating correctly ,test it several times, the most common fix is to replace the whole assembly, it includes the charcoal canister, and requires removal of the fuel tank, hope this helps chris.

Gas smell

I have a 1999 Chevrolet Lumina with the 3.8L engine. In 2009 I also smelled fuel when I drove my car. My leak was located at the fuel rail output connector. Chev house said I had to replace the entire fuel line all the way back to the tank. Say what? I easily fixed the problem by installing a NAPA #7304922 3/8" Nylon Fuel Line Retainer (repair kit - $25).

Ive got an 1988 corvette sometimes it takes 3-7 tries to start whether cold or warm and other times it starts fine and has also stalled out while driving down road

Sounds like it could be a fuel pump or a fuel pressure regulator depending on the engine you have. Usually when it takes more than a second or two of turning it over before it will start means the fuel is going back down the line when not running. This can be because of a leak, not fuel leaking out but air leaking in, the fuel system or it can be as easy and a gas cap not properly venting/letting air into the tank as the tank empties. If it doesn"t let air in the tank, then the fuel that is being pumped out is creating a vaccum and sucking the fuel back into the tank when you shut the car off. Try opening the gas cap and letting some air get in just before you shut the car off. Then if it fires right up next time you know you need to replace the gas cap. If not check for vaccum leaks around the intake. Good luck.

My 92, chevy 5.7 v8 will start 4 a moment then dies pumping the gas doesnt really help either ive changed the spark plugs, wires & cap, fuel pump egr vavle, checked fuses & it still wont run

Sounds like the fuel pump. it is in the gas tank and rather pricey for the Chev. trucks. easiest to drop the tank and clean area around it really good first.

1998 chevy lumina car. DTC code p0440. I know

You will need to drop the tank if you have a strong gas odor. Rubber line between sending unit and metal pipe is leaking.

1992 Chevy Silverado idles rough why?

Check your MAP and TP sensors. Your throttle body may be having trouble determining position and is compensating by adjusting RPMs.

1992 Chevy Lumina will not start when temp is below 0 degrees

Try changing the fuel filter, water trapped in it can freeze. Its a 92 and probably time for a fuel pump. They don't like water either.(Meythonol Fuel) Always change fuel filter when adding antifreeze to fuel

I would suggest making sure you have a vented gas cap.
