Mine does, hopefully 'did' the same thing. I took mine to the Chevy dealership today with the same problem and they told me it was the throttle body. It was gummed-up. My vehicle has '06 Equinox has 63'000 on it and besides this starting problem i have also replaced the front and rear shock around 40k, the heater door/valve at 31k and I'm on my third set of rotors and I don't even drive it hard. This starter problem is more and more common that I am seeing, so take off the air intake hose to get to the throttle body and see if it is gummed-up or dirty. if so clean it with Carburator cleaner or other approved cleaner.

Car has not been started in 10 years. Has 51,000 original miles. Cranks but won't start

Flush all the fuel out, pull apart all the fuel system components and clean them, it is likely completely clogged with dried gas residue.

My 2006 Equinox won't start. The battery is fine it is just making a lot of clicking noises. What could be the problem?

First question is: Is the battery really fine? Turn on the headlights and see if they stay on while trying to crank the engine.

If they stay on on then yes, the batttery is fine and the problem is likely your starter solenoid.

if not, then you may have a dead cell or two in the battery that provide enough power to light up your interior and run accessories, but cannot turn the engine over. Hope this helps you find the issue. Cliff

My car is not wanting to start lately. I have a 2006 Chevrolet Equinox. it got a new battery in the fall so it shouldn't be that. i'm wondering if it is the alternator??

I have the same vehicle and it had the same issue. I am a turbine engine mechanic so I am pretty familiar with engine issues. Turned out to be the ignition coil. Cost about $70 at autozone and it isn't hard to replace if your mechanically inclined, a repair shop will charge you about 2 to 3 hours for labor (about $250) and about $200 for the part. so it's better to do yourself.

Starter cranks and cranks but no ignition and or fuel, 2-3 times of cycling the key and it will finally start. 2005 equinox lt awd

This sounds like the fuel pump pressure check valve is defective, that is the usual cause of this long crank time issue, I am sure if you replace the fuel pump and filter the problem will go away. If you want to verify this issue have a shop run a fuel pressure leak down test, after the key is turned off the fuel press should not drop more than 5 PSI
