Question about 2007 Volkswagen EOS Convertible

I got a TP 'ding' as soon as i drive my eos and it is repeated regularly during the drive interrupting the audio system. what does the tp stand for? i thought it was tire pressure but all tires seem fine

They may seem fine to you, but the computer checks for any and all iregularities. Make sure to check it with a tire guage, and then reset the tp monitoring system, should tell you how to in your owners manual. Set tire pressure to around 32psi

Inermittently when coming to a stop the car accelerated like wide open throttle with foot on the brake.

SYSTEM/COMPONENT REFERENCE (Section 5 Pinpoint Test unless noted)
  • Base engine air leaks, including proper sealing of intake manifold and components/vacuum lines attached to intake air (such as the PCV, EGR or IAC valve/vacuum lines).
  • Visual, Engine System - General Information Section 303 of the Workshop Manual.
  • Verify engine operates at normal temperature.
  • Visual (refer to Symptom Index, or Engine Cooling Section 303 of Workshop Manual, to diagnose any cooling system concerns that are present).
  • Fast idle concerns:
  • Key on, engine off, monitor TP MODE PID while wiggling TP sensor circuits. TP MODE PID can also be monitored during vehicle drive. With throttle closed, TP MODE PID must be C/T (closed throttle).
  • TP Mode PID is not C/T with throttle closed: NOTE: At vehicle start, the TPREL will begin at about 1.25 volts, and count down to the lowest TP V value seen since engine start. If the TP V value goes below the "normal" range, then increases again, TPREL will set to the lower voltage. If TP V is about 0.04 volts greater than the TPREL value at closed throttle, the PCM will go into part throttle mode.
  • Monitor TP V and TPREL PIDs for sudden changes while checking for intermittent TP circuit/connector concerns. Also check for loose/worn throttle plates. If no concern is found, GO to Z1 in Section 5.

Do you know what these thing's are that I have listed above ? Mostly the TP - throttle position sensor . These are known to cause this type of problem . Has it ever been changed before ?

I have p 1121 and a P 0401 codes on my 1998 ford windstar. are these related? what can I check? replaced the mass airflow sensor recently.

Are there any cracks in the rubber hose from air cleaner to throttle body ! That could cause the P1121 air entering after mass air flow sensor !

It comes from RDS (Radio) - TA, TP (traffic announcement, traffic programme) The receiver can often be set to pay special attention to this flag and, for example, stop the tape/pause the CD or retune to receive a traffic bulletin. The TP flag is used to allow the user to find only those stations that regularly broadcast traffic bulletins whereas the TA flag is used to signal an actual traffic bulletin in progress, with radio units perhaps performing other actions such as stopping a cassette tape (so the radio can be heard) or raising the volume during the traffic bulletin.

2002 Jeep Wrangler. Engine warning light is on. After turning the key switch on/off 3 times the following two codes appear. P0123 and P0300.


Hi, I'm not sure these are related. The first is your throttle position sensor. This tells the engine how hard you are pushing on the accelerator. The second code is random misfire., which I've never seen caused by the TPS. That said, I would fix the TPS first. Check the wiring and connector for any issues. If the wiring looks good, I would replace it and calibrate the new sensor. How do you replace the TPS


Throttle Position Sensor Replacement
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the generator.
  3. Disconnect the throttle position (TP) sensor electrical connector.
  4. Remove the TP sensor attaching screws
  5. Remove the TP sensor
  6. Remove the TP sensor O-ring seal
Installation Procedure



  1. Install the TP sensor O-ring seal (7) on the TP sensor (6).
  2. Install the TP sensor on the throttle body with the throttle valve in the closed position. Make sure the TP sensor lever lines up with the TP sensor drive lever on the throttle shaft.
  3. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
  4. Install the TP sensor attaching screws (5).
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the screws to 2 N·m (18 lb in).
  6. Connect the TP sensor electrical connector.
  7. Install the generator.
  8. Connect the negative battery cable.

CORRELATION - HIGH FLOW/VACUUM LEAK

When Monitored: Engine Running, during all drive modes.
Set Condition: If vacuum drops below 1.5 Hg with engine RPM greater than 2000 RPM
at closed throttle.
