Question about 1998 Audi A6
You don't have to pull the radio. Take your title, registration, and photo ID to the service department, and as long as the radio is still installed in the car, they'll look it up for you based on the VIN of the car. They may hit you for up to an hour's labor to do this (I've seen it happen, and it's ridiculous). Make sure they write it down for you for future reference.
As for removing the radio, you need security keys to unfasten it from the dash. They're available at a dealer or most stereo shops.

Where & When Do I Input This CODE that I have at what point

The code is in your owners manual. If you dont have it anymore then your radio needs to be pulled out. Take your car to your local Audi/Volkswagen Dealer. They will pull the radio and run the serial number threw their computer system and give you the code, maybe for a small fee.
