Yes, but the system needs to be discharged first. They are schrader valves, usually, but sometimes you have to replace that hose.

Yes with a schrader valve removal tool but before you do that check for dirt in the openning of the valve and if no dirt try to tighten schrader valve hope this helps

I don't think this is right, the old R12 systems used Schrader vales which are easy to replace. But this is an R134a system and the valves appear to be a stainless steel check ball type configuration.

Hey that's OK. I appreciate all the help i can get...LOL

From everything I've read, the R134a systems don't use a schrader valve, instead they use a check ball configuration. I also read they're not replacable without replacing the hose assembly. I've not been able to confirm this yet, but it looks like it's going to be a bigger job than I hoped for.

The recharge valves you buy at the parts store will only go on the low side of he system, which is normally the line that goes to the dryer.

Cleaned throttle body on chevy 03 1500. Now has high idle about 1200 rpm and surges up and down?

Hi.

Check the following in order:

IAC valve wiring, connectors and vacuum hoses.
Look for vacuum hoses that are not connected in general.
EGR valve wiring, connectors and vacuum hoses.
PCV system.
Wiring to the two sensors in the air intake.
Check position of the air intake for leaks. Tighten its screws.
Check wiring in general.
Do a code scanning if you have not found anything so far, check wiring of ECM and O2 sensors.

If the car idles up and down there may be an air leak from air intake or IAC, EGR, there may be a vaccuum leak or PCV system may be malfunctioning. Those are the things to check first and with more attention.

Regards.

One is the low side and one is the high side. The orifice tube is located in the screw fitting between them.
