Should be a tab to either push down or pull up on to release the connection. It is possible it may have a small retainer slid through the side of the release tab.

How do I unplug the coil pack on a 05 Freestar. Is there a release button. I can't unplug by just pulling straight up.

The coil is in the rear of the engine and the plug wires are all connected through a plastic housing in the front of the engine

Misfiring

Far more likely than a defective camshaft position sensor: bad spark plug wires, fouled spark plugs, or a bad coil pack are the most probably culprits. Also, verify that you haven't developed any vacuum leaks anywhere.

Where do the spark plug wires connect to the coil on 2006 ford freestar

  1. Hello your plug wires connect to the coil pack located on the back side of the engine to access this you better be a fairly good mechanic the whole plastic housing comes off in front of the windshield start by removing the wiper blades first then you can remove the plastic housing and you will see your coil pack buried on the valve cover twords the passanger side hope this helps u if you don't understand this watch a video on youtube type in the search ford freestar coil replacement regards Chris

How do i get to the rear spark plugs & coil pack on my 2005 Freestar

the coil pack is in the front, but the back plugs can be done (not easily) by removing the 'shelf' over the top of the rear cowl and removing the wiper motor assembly. I hope this helps - rate my answer to let me know and to help others with the same problem

Diagram of the motor

Don't need a diagram for that!

Just follow any of the spark plug wires, one end goes to the spark plug and the other to the coil.

Good Luck.

Scanner says problem with coil b, misfire

there are thre two wires per coil and if it's a 6 cylinder then it has that many if it's an 8 it has four. So it would be the middle coil looking from the from of the car looking at the pack, and they have it markedon them as well. Buy Only FORD coil do not buy after market unless your going to sell it.
