What does it cost to replace a starter on a 1988 honda accord

It depends on the area you live in because the average labor rate changes in different areas. In my area it is 68.88 an hour. so it depends on what shop you take it to as far as their labor rate. My book list that it takes 1.3 hours to replace the starter so you can figure out the labor. Now as far as the part, in my area it list for about $150.00 but if you went and bought it I would figure about half that but costs change in different areas as well. That's the best i can do for you and I hope it helps....Good luck.

Need to replace starter

I recommend you get the Haynes repair manual on your vehicle. Start by removing the negative battery terminal, then removing the retaining bolts from the starter followed by removing the wires from the starter. Reverse the process to put the new starter on.

1988 honda prelude manual tranny, won't start, put in a new starter and still the stater will not turn on, check fuse, oil, battery, what else can i check?

Have you checked the neutral safety switch? The switch is designed to prevent the vehicle from starting unless the clutch is fully depressed. I am not quite sure where the switch is located, it may be under dash on clutch shaft or the transmission. Keep me posted on this matter.
