You need a part called a "Regulator". This part can be installed within an hour. Glass shops routinely do this job and it can be done while you wait.

Now that you know what the part is, you can call around for the price of the part and installation. The door panel and the switches on the door will have to be removed. The broken plastic Regulator will have to be removed and a new Regulator threaded into the gears of the Window motor.

1996 Mercury Grand Marquis - wipers will not work. Have check multifunctional switch and motor. Both ok.

if motor and switch are ok and the motor is running, then it's the ball joints on the arms that have become disconnected underneath the windshield in the firewall vicinity. Also, the wiper arms could be stripped out.

1996 marquis 3 windows quit working at same time. they do make

look under the dash in the fuse box for the relay that controls the power windows. it has likely failed. have someone hold their finger on the top of the relay while you try the windows to confirm this. it will likely either be very hot or will "chatter"

I have a 96 grand marquis. The back window will not role up. I have taken off the door panel already. Can some one tell me how to take off the metal frame of the door to get right next to the actual...

that does not come off, you most likely need a new window motor, to replace that drill out the three dimples in the door skin in front of the window motor and then remove 8mm machine screws that fasten the motor to the window regulator.

The power window on my 1993 Mercury Grand Marquis is not working?

more than likely the motor in the door. pull the door panel off and try hooking the motor up directly to the battery and see if it will move up and down if you hear the motor running but nothing happens pull the motor out take the cover off of the gears and see if the little nylon bearings are the if nut a cheap fix is to get a couple of nuts that will fit in the slots with a little slack and put it back together and motor should work.
