The engine light does not mean there is something wrong.
It just means there is a code that has been stored, for you to read.
The light will stay on until you read the code and reset it.
A place like Autozone can do it for you for free.

When you go to Autozone get the actual code, and add it to this problem as a comment.
Don't go by what they tell you to replace.
The CEL light will continue to come on until the problem is repaired after 2 a max of 2 drive cycles. Clearing it without fixing it will not keep the light off.

Check engine light is on and the car stalls when not moving.

First you need to scan for fault codes which will direct you to the real problem causing your indicator light to come on.

My check engin light came on the codes came up as po133, p1000 what do i do to fix my car is a 1998 ford windstar?

A code P0133 may mean that one or more of the following has happened:
  • The oxygen sensor is faulty
  • The wiring to the sensor is broken / frayed
  • There is an exhaust leak
the problem is more than likely the front Bank 1 oxygen sensor. You will likely wind up replacing it but you should also consider these possible solutions:
  • Check and fix any exhaust leaks
  • Check for wiring problems (shorted, frayed wires)
  • Check the frequency and amplitude of the oxygen sensor (advanced)
  • Check for a deteriorating / contaminated oxygen sensor, replace if necessary
  • Check for inlet air leaks
  • Check the MAF sensor for proper operation
  • code p1000 refers to emission monitors not fully run and requires a couple of drive cycles from cold start to fully warmed drive cycle at different speeds.

My Dodge Stratus (1998 4 cyl) check Engine light is on. The error code says oxygen sensors were bad. Both oxygen sensors have been replaced. After resetting the check Eng light. The oxygen sensor

the upper 02 sensor is for air fuel mix while the secondary 02 sensor is for the operation and status of the catalitic converter are you sure the catalitic converter is not plugged. Could be if you have had a loss of power

Check engine light keeps on re-appearing despite work done to resolve it. Re-set adjustments have been made, and within a few days of correction, check engine light will come on.

Well If I know what code was coming up for the check engine light I might be able to help you more. However let just for an example say it is on for an Oxygen sensor. This doesn't always mean the Oxygen sensor is bad. I can also mean that there is a problem in the circuit going to it. Yes 9 time out of 10 is is the sensor but a lot of time it can be a shorted or corroded wire some where in the circuit which can be a little more difficult to find. Good Luck I hope this helps. Let me know what code is coming up and maybe I can help you further.

The truck keeps dying even after i change the alternator battery and some cable

It may be a Throttle Positioning Sensor or a Oxygen sensor however before replacing either one or both bring the vehicle to an Auto Zone parts store to have them run a free trouble code check with there computer in order to assertain which sensor must be replaced, even if there is no check engine light on there may be what's call a hard code stored this should point you in the right direction.

My 2001 Ford Escape runs rough before it warms up. The check engine light has just come on. I assume it is an oxygen sensor. How do I replace it?

Well, fords are known for multiple O2 sensors... so I would have Autozone do a free diagnostic to see if

1. it really is an O2 sensor - and which one
2. eliminate the power feed to the injection/choke circuit.

Check your Oxygen Sensor. You are probally running to too rich. Might need new O2 sensors. There usually are more than one. (Oxygen Sensors).
