Positive battery cable replacement

Use a battery wrench usually 8mm to open the terminal bolts. Undo both of them and disconnect both the cables (positive and negative). Disconnect the other end of the positive cable by following it along its length. Undo the bolt that holds it. And now you can replace the cable. Follow the same process in reverse for reinstallation.

Replace positive battery cable 97 montero

A lot of cars have two cables on the positive post.
Do you need to replace the cables or is the battery post clamp broken. You can buy a replacement post clamp if you have the type of cables that are bolted to the clamp.
If you need the cable, a oem replacement from your dealer parts counter will match. You can get after market replacements, just look for one that matches your original as close as possible. The parts counter guy should be able to help.

The battery positive post is fused into my battery cable and I can not remove the rest of it from the cable- What can I do

Take off the negative cable first, then remove the battery with the positive cable attached and replace either positive cable end , or the whole positive cable.

Cable end, or the whole cable can be purchased from Autozone, or from any local car parts dealer.

To replace the battery cable , follow the cable to the point it is attached to the engine on one side, and to the interior electrical distribution center on the ote. There you will find a bolt holding the cable to engine, and a connector to electrical distribution center.

Get more detailed info here.

Regards.
