My sepantine belt keeps sliding off and brand new tensioner what could be the problem

check pulley alignment as any pulley that is out of alignment can cause this, maybe when you changed the timing belt you left out a spacer for one of the serpentine belt pulleys. also make sure the belt is on all the pulleys correctly.

Hi, if it's ignition timing your looking at, it'not adjustable, it's controlled by the ECU, If however it's the cam belt timing, there is a crnk timing mark on the bottom pulley and the cam shafts have markings on theouter rim of the pulleys, these have to line up facing each other in a straight line using the centre bolts as a datum, all 3 marks should be aligned to be correct

We can not figure out how to take the cover off the timming belt on my 2002 PT cruiser and what is timing supposed to be set at?

Changing the timing belt on your car is a huge project. If you are a novice, take it to a professional. If you have done this before on other vehicles, get a service manual, and be prepared for a lot of prepatory work before you get the cover off. You need to loosen/remove most of the motor mounts, belt driven accessories, and even the air conditioner lines.

My 2004 PT cruiser is on its second serpentine belt tensioner pulley. The dealer and parts houses only sell the "tensioner/pulley as an assembly. I only need the pulley. Do you know where I can buy just...

If you are on your second tensioner/pulley you have an alignment problem with your belt. I don't know if that is a broken engine mount you saw but it could be your problem with the belt. And no you have to buy the whole part.

Describe your 2002 Chrysler PT Cruiser timing

Replace the belt at 100k with a new water pump pulley and tensioner. It would not be a bad idea while u r in there to replace the center motor mount. When the mount fails it is a pricey fix not a bad Idea to replace it since you have to remove it to do the belt.
