Question about 1998 Honda Accord

1 Answer

My 1998 Honda Accord air conditioning system will suddenly turn off as I am driving down the road (the lights on the A/C pannel will go out). Sometimes anywhere from 30 seconds to an hour later it will come back on...I'm unable to pinpoint a reason for when it does this. Sometimes it will stay on and other times it goes back off. The fan still blows air. I've replaced all of the fuses (which none have been blown).

Same thing happened to me they said it was a recall but I'm sure that's over . What I did was go on eBay and found the AC panel for the yr of my car, if he panel looks crapy because it's used ya may get it cheaper. Was about 50$ I think or less with shipping. You have to get the one for your car you can't switch from analog to digital it won't work I herd. But I replaced it and it works just great used my panel and buttons so everything is like my old dash but used the used climat unit be careful there are little plastic rods with heads on them that will come out. But real easy to do takes about 15 minutes

SOURCE: My 1998 Honda Accord air conditioning system shuts off

you have an AC relay somwhere. rotate it or replace it. When you turn the AC on listen for a click in the fuse boxes. That will be the relay.

Car won't start. It turns over but won't start. Wait 10-15 minutes and it starts.1998 Honda Accord EX

There is a possibility of a condition called "Vapor Lock" in which on hot temperatures, air bubbles form inside the fuel line, and dont allow the fuel to reach the injectors. One the line cools down, the vapor goes away, and car starts uneventfully. Have the fuel lines checked for leaks or abnormalities. The other possibility is that the EFI (Electronic Fuel Injection) relay or computer unit is acting up. These units usually start to fail when hot, and work normally after the engine compartment cools down.

I have a 2000 Honda Accord that has the ''SRS'' red light on the instrument cluster that is on and does not go off. Occasionally the passenger side air bag yellow warning light will come on for a little...

most of older honda models have problem with seat belt and it turn on the srs light. infact, there is a recall, check with your local dealer.
however, when that light come on there is a problem with your air bag system. so have it check

Air conditioning condencer needs replaced

Just found some information searching Google....Apparently the Accord condernsers are prone to damage from road debris. A few of the posts I found stated they paid $700-$800 for a repair.

Find a good mechanic (not a dealer, just ask around at work or ask your neighbord). Any reputable mechanic can replace it.
