Put it on the plastic portion, the metal will contain too much heat and burn off the line.

Two additional possibilities:
  • Fuel contamination (worth siphoning and replacing ALL of the fuel to eliminate the possibility, especially if you have been using ethanol blend fuel);
  • Bad spark plug wire (despite proper static resistance). Just replace ALL of the spark plug wires.

Where can I get plastic vacum line kit for 1986 corvette

Here's an eBay seller's page...has a LOT of Corvette parts including '86 Corvette parts. If nothing else, hit "contact seller" and send him an email asking if he knows where to acquire the parts. Good luck!

Where do the three vacum line go on the egr on a 1985 corvette

You do not need to connect the three vacume hoses to the EGR just find one that has vacume to it upon accelaration with the car running pull a vacume hose off the carburator with a vacume gage or your finger check to see if you got vacume if not accelarate carb if you do connect vacume line to EGR

I have a 1979 El Camino. I need to install a EGR valve. Can you tell me where the vacuum hose connects to from the EGR valve?

There should be a vacuum diagram under the hood but if it's gone the EGR hooks to the purple topped vacum port. I think that's the one on the thermostat housing, if I remember right. The other vacuum port should have a red and white restrictor valve in one of the lines and that is the wrong one. The other line from it goes to the bottom left on the carburator. If you don't have any of that stuff, and that's possible, then it needs to have manifold vacuum so hook it direct to the carb or the manifold on an available nipple. Hope this helps.

I am getting no power to my ignition coil.

Hey, before you go spending lots of money take a lesson from my experience. I have two 89 Jeep Cherokees. I have discovered through much heart ache and trial and error that these Jeeps have an inherent problem in the electrical harness in the back of the engine on the passenger side. It is a black harness with just a few wires on both sides of the harness. The connections inside that one harness do work loose and the result will be no spark. Start by just simply using your fingers and pull the harness connections in and out some and then press it together as solid as common sense will allow. I have even taken a small file or sandpaper to the connections and then it starts right up. I have spent hundreds of dollars in replacing coil, distributor, control modual, rotor and cap, And each time no spark. A good Jeep mechanic finally diagnosed the problem with a very expensive diagnostic analzer. And the whole time I could have got it running with only my fingers. Hope this helps. Mark

2003 4.0 V6 explorer with the vacume line off the egr it runs, but runs rough. when the vacume line is hooked up to the egr it cuts off. i put a new egr on and it did the same thing please asap..

First. Check the vacum routing from the egr. facing the engine, the vac.
line should go to the right and connect to the egr vacum regulator
solenoid. The line from the solenoid to manifold vacum. The solenoid
is also connected to the powertrain ctrl. module And some models,
have a egr sensor. the two vac.lines from the sensor(if equipped)go to
the exaust below the egr valve. The three wires from the sensor go to the pcm. At this I would plug in the obd2 scanner if no vac.leaks or
bad connections have been found. This can narrow the field greatly.
You can stop by an autozone/napa etc. they will scan it for free.
I hope this helps. Good luck.

well the egr could be stuck open acting like a vacum leak,,,and causing the car to stall,,,you need a new egr,,,,check the wires and if any vacum hoses that go to it,to make sure they are good and connected first,if so replace the egr,,,,it could be false dtc for MAF sensor,,,
