Couple of potential causes may be throttle position sensor may be dropping out and can be checked with scanner perform a tps sweep and watch for sudden glitch should be smooth transition from about .45v at closed throttle to about 4.85 or so @full throttle also if this vehicle uses a mass air flow meter it could cause these symptoms but are usually more problematic thru out the rev
