Question about 1998 Lincoln Town Car
You have to call you local automotive locksmith and have them reprogram your car to match the new keys for your new ignition.

You have to get the key programed you need two original keys 1.) place original key in ignition turn to on position for 5 seconds 2. tack 1st key out and put secound key in the ignition turn key to on position for 10 seconds take key out place the new key in turn to on position for 10 secounds take out the key now try to start the car it should run if the the is programable

Ford vehicles usually have a small hole under the ignition lock cylinder that allows access to the release for the cylinder. I assume Lincoln has a similar setup. Turn the ignition to on and locate the small hole in the steering column trim, use a long thin punch and stick it in the hole depressing the release. You should be able to gently pull the lock cylinder out now.

the enginr oil pressure switch runs the fuel pump till the oil pressure is up to the normal operating range. When the pressure is up the relay kicks in and takes over the power to the pump. The oil pressure switch my be at fault if you can no hear the pump running when you turn the key on
