Question about 1997 Mercury Cougar XR7
The flasher is located below the dash on the drivers side of the car. You must remove the panel below the steering wheel. There are three bolts on this panel. Once removed look to the lefe side of the car, as far left as you can see. You will see two square boxes. One is mounted to a rail with plastic clips. The other is mounted with a screw to the body. The one mounted to the body is the one you are looking for. Slide it off the metal clip and remove the plug. Plug in your new flasher and away you go. You may have to remove the first square box to get to the flasher.
