Drain the coolant from the vehicle first. Remove the glove box. There is a plastic box behind the glove box, remove the cover off the box (about 6 screws). The heatercore is behind that cover.Disconnect the intake and outtake hoses from the heater core. You may need a special tool to remove the couplings that connect the hoses to the heater core.Loosen the 2 hose clamps and remove the hoses from the core. Unbolt the core from the fire wall and lift it out. Reverse this procedure to reinstall.

Thanks. Keep updated for any more query. You can rate this solution and show your appreciation.

Why is my 1998 ford contour over heating and my heater no longer works

Radiator is corroded, plugged up due to age. Same with the heater core. You door vents might not be working, which could also result in a no heat situation.

99 ford contour gauge shows running hot. Change both sensors near thermostat and the thermostat. Flushed system and burped it. Ac or heat makes no difference. Fans seems to be working. Any ideas?

Is it ACTUALLY overheating? Check for heat at the top and bottom radiator hoses, and at both heater core hoses. If one is cold then your radiator or your heater core may be plugged and in need of a individual flush.

I replaced the thermostate and the heater will still not warm. The fan does blow. Where is the heater core? 2000 ford contour

you have to remove the whole dash, i suggest replacing the blend door at the same time as this is also a wear item

Heater blows cold

If no coolant flowing through the heater core then ther is no heat. There are 2 possible root causes needed to check out: 1- THE VALVE TO CONTROL THE COOLANT FLOWING TO THE HEATER CORE IS NOT OPENING AS DESIRED. 2- THE HEATER CORE GOT CLOGGED UP AND NEED TO BE FLUSHED.

I need the location of the o2 sensors on a 1997 ford contour gl 4-121 2.0 dohc

Ford contour has 4 O2 sensors, one under the coil pack between the engine and firewall (bank 1, sensor 1 and it's a pain to reach), one in front between the radiator and engine and two accessible from underneath.

I have a 1997 ford contour gl it's not overheating but the gauge is on the l

Probably the engine sending unit is bad

Cheap fix

buy a new one first it screws in like a pipe plug, on top of the engine near the top radiator hose

Overheating and no hot air from heater.

Leave rad cap off when starting from cold, turn heater(not defrost) on, and top up coolant in rad as you go, to about an inch or 2 from top of rad. Let engine run with cap off until your rad fan comes on & off 3 or 4 times. Every once in a while, rev engine slightly for 5-10 seconds to help bleed air out faster. After about 3 or 4th time fan comes on, you should be o.k. to put cap back on all the way & fill bottle to proper level. Heat should be there now. Give it a try & let me know how it goes.

1995 ford contour lifter noise

If it had any head work done such as valve grinding. there could be a valve a tad shorter and may
result in a noise until the engine warms up. That is what i hear the problem is with mine. There
was no noise before i had the head work done.
