U have a problem with the fuel injection pump, have it diagnosed by a diesel repair shop or just replace it.

Engine started and was smoking very bad but wouldn't stay started now it won't start at all but will turn over.

The engine was smoking very badly? Was any smoke coming out of the tailpipe? If not, either the exhaust manifold is broken or off the vehicle, or the exhaust pipe is broken, has a hole in it, or it is completely missing! Is it really loud?

You SAID the engine was smoking. But if you said that in error, then perhaps the exhaust system is okay, but oil is getting into the cylinders. Check for a PCV (positive crankcase ventilator) valve that may not be working right. Another thing that can make heavy smoke come out of tailpipes is a head gasket leak, with antifreeze getting into the cylinder chambers. How is the oil level and the coolant level? If there is that much smoke, it is advisable to not drive the vehicle for any reason except an emergency!

VW Caddy Mk2 1.9SDI, engine hunting with black smoke from exhaust.

Hi mate

I have 3 VWs and 2 Audis the VAGCOM but before you go out and spend a ton do the following

Change fuel filter
Get you a can of Seafoam

Since my tanks are only 14 gallons I used half of it every 6 months to keep injectors cleaned.

But because you have so much black smoke I will do the full can on a tank of fuel. Give it a drive it will smoke white a bit while it clears all the all junk. If that don't help that injected went to VW injector heaven.

Good luck

I have a mazda mpv 2006 2.3l turbo from japan.2 months of using the car its smoking and oil level dropping ever day

If the vehicle has a diesel engine and it starts with black smoke that clears you should put some injector cleaner in the fuel tank, a couple of treatments should clean the injectors.
If the smoke is grey/white perhaps you should have the engine checked for issues.
If the vehicle has a petrol engine maybe the valves need some attention.
Ideally you should have the people who supplied you with the vehicle take a look at it . The problem wit himports is that some elements of a vehicle need modification to run correctly, this sounds as though something more serious may be ammiss
The oil level is reducing quickly, that needs investigation.
I would say that the person who supplied you with the vehicle needs to take a very close look at the engine.

GOOD LUCK WITH IT

I have a nissan sentra 2000 model has idle hunt problem. replaced TPS IACV had computer remanned. when vehicle starts hunting can shut car off then restart idles normal. shut off again wait 2-4 minute

You check fuel pressure?

OBD Codes in ANY Module?

All Emission Monitors Run clear?

Look at a trouble chart for the IAC problem

I do not know what having the computer remanned means

If it was replaced or not, it may need an update flashed

Did you Google the problem & check nissan forums?

Slip into service bay at a dealer, from the outside & ask a
tech,I do that all the time,no one will stop you, your going to
parts dept (right & got lost)

Smoke, smoke, smoke and alternator/fan belt shredded

If 1994 Suzuki equip with air condition then please check the A/C compressor clutch.

The compress clutch can lock up on a defect ai/c pump and cause the belt to smoke.

Please check for a fail a/c pump first and get back to me.

An fair A/C pump can be bypass via an a/c pump bypass pulley (as picture below)
