You have to replace because the seat belts are part of the airbag system

Seat belts locked up

You could also try disconnecting the battery for an hour to see if it resets the system. Car wrecks disable many of the controls automatically. Often times you need to reset the computer by disconnecting the battery and reconnecting it.

Seat belts locked up on VW Polo 2006 model - had accident but air bags did not deploy

Any seat belt problem is covered under a warranty program. However if vehicle was in a wreck this may have triggered the lock up feature of the seat belt.

You will need new seat belts.

I have a 2002 Jaguar s type a light has come on, that looks like a seat and seat belt, what does this mean

Sounds like u have either a broken wire to ur seat belt connector by ur right hip or it's not working at all... Might be best to just get one from a euro wrecking yard.. Should be cheap

I have an 05 ford escape... has never been in a wreck or any run in at all. the seat belt buckle for some reason wont latch and im not sure if somehow the pretensioner was activated or not. im guessing...

Unless there is a recall on the seat belt Ford is not going to replace a 12 year old seat belt free of charge. I doubt that the part is even available from Ford anymore unless that particular part is still used on a newer vehicle.

Can I get and install seat belts?

The very best place to find seat belts at a good price is at a salvage yard. Yes you can install them yourself. They simple bolt in. Of course you have to remove some trim pieces to get to the bolts. If you want new belts then there are many places that sell them.

No rear seat belts in 1993 Samurai- can I fit them?

On my Samurai the rear seat belt retractors bolt to the floor behind the seat almost against the tailgate . The other end is attached to the rear seat in the middle ( 2 passengers in back only ) . As if there was enough room for more ! You could probably find some seatbelts in a junk yard on a wrecked Samurai. Or maybe online .

2005 Acura RSX

The buckle and belt need to be replaced.  They are only good for one time during a collision.  The buckle has an explosive charge in it that causes the buckle to pull back toward the seat.  The belt does the the same.  It locks up during an accident, also so body shops can't try to reuse it.  The SRS light will stay on until they are replaced.
