Question about Cadillac DeVille

1 Answer

I have a 1993 caddy, 4 door. My question is my left front door handle snapped off, and I am having a problem locating a replacement at a junk yard. Can I have the left rear door handle put on the front and what could I expect for the labor ?

First off what is the model of the cadillac? You can expect about 1 1/2 hours of labor charged so it all depends on what their hourly labor rate is. If you give me the model I can help you locate the handle you are in need of.
Thank you,
Lee

You can try a junk yard, auto parts store (maybe) or the dealer. One of the 3 will be able to source it - withe the junk yard probably having the right part for the east money - auto parts store may have some thing that fits - is new - and cost about the same or more than the junk yard. The dealer will have it or be able to get it - new - and the most costly of all.

Being a 2009 you might have to buy a new 1 at the dealer.unless you get lucky and find 1 in a junk yard.Alot of inner door handles can be changed by removing screw for trim on handle(usually in the center of handle, might have cover over it if so pop cover off to revael screw) and remove door rods off back of handle. If not you will need to remove door panel.

Is this a 2 or 4 door model? both would need the handle replaced from how you described...must remove the inside door panel to change out the door handle...there is one hard to see screw behind the arm rest...must be removed to remove this panel...the door handle is a dealer or junk yard part...2 bolts one at each end hold in place...put window up when changing...junk yard handles are everywhere including on line...dealer gets $30-$35 for $2. junk yard part...If 2 door...different handle, same availability...these handles are interchangeable with other similar GM cars...hope this helps:)

Replacing the Exhaust Pipe

Why would you not go to the auto parts store, buy what you need, return home and install it yourself.

You must have lost your mind,if you think that a junk yard exhaust system is anything but rusted metal.
