Replace the /the ignitor switch in the distributor electronic control switch its the ignitor in your distributor its the unit the wires going into ur distributor makes them complete ur spark
no spark normally means that the coil is burnt or connections are corroded.check to see if you are getting power from the coil,if not clean all contacts and retry.if nothing try another coil.also check the spark plug wires and spark plugs cause it has been sitting for an awful long time.
First check any ignition/fuel related fuses. Check to make sure you have 12 volts coming into the pump and coil. If nothing to the fuel pump replace the fuel pump relay - if you do have power to the fuel pump then replace the pump. If nothing is coming to the coil it is either an ignition relay or a wiring issue. If you have 12 volts to the coil but no spark then replace the coil.
Also the fuel pump/relay would not kill the coil.
If you have spark at the coil then you have a good coil. You can't measure Ohm at a spark plug since it is alway open at the gap. But you can OHM measure a spark plug wire at both end. If you have nothing mean your wire is bad. You can swap one more wire to confirm a bad wire. If your wire is not bad then I recommend to replace both rotor and distributor cap. Good luck in locating the problem.
Need to connect a spark plug directly to the output of the coil. This is the one going into the center of the distributor.
If you have spark then the rotor and the distributor cap needs to be replaced. If there is no spark then your coil is bad. It needs a replacement. Hope this can help.
do you have spark coming from your coil to distributor,or no spark right from coil? if you have spark coming from coil, and nothing at any plugs, check you dist. cap and rotor button.Chrysler's are famous for the cap and rotor button to corrode, you may be able to just clean the corrosion off with some fine sand paper,or might have to replace them. if you have no spark coming from coil, check for power and ground to coil.if both are present, replace coil.
I have spark coming from the coil to the dist by using a screw driver to ground it to something and got spark and then tried it again and got nothing. I am not sure what the hi tension lead is ( sorry) and were is it located on the coil? if so I did try the spark on the coil.
have u checked the electronic engine control fault codes yet, if not do so.
