Question about Lexus RX 330

1 Answer

The navigation system freezes and none of the touch buttons will work. The GPS only shows the "I agree" button and will not pass that point ot the navigation map. Also, the only area that will work is the information panel that displays the fuel consumption etc. I have taken it to the dealer and they have reset the unit only to have the same symptoms reappear. The advice from the dealer is to replace the unit for about $5000 or a refurbished unit for about $2500. Any advice?

The dealer is 100% right about the recommended repair, only a refurbished unit will correct this, have seen this exact same problem many times and the fix was always the same, install a refurbished unit, sorry but this is what must be done to get up and running again

Gps on my 2002 lexus rx300 wont work it sayes disk is inserted but have no disk to insert

Sounds like the battery has been pulled or was dead for a while. You need to purchase the disk for your navigation system to reboot it somehow it has been erased or just damaged program. Look on ebay and even your Lexus dealer.

HONDA INTERNAVI CAR NAVIGATION SYSTEM
I am in srilankan. I have bought a 2010 Honda Cr z imported from Japan. The car has an imporessive Honda Internavi Car Navigation System which intergrates Japanese GPS, mobile phone, reversing camera, audio, TV, DVD, CD etc on a touch screen and steering wheel control BUT all graphics and buttons are in Japanese script. Unfortunately the car didn't come with any instruction manuals. I want to know anything anyone else might know about the entire system, in English language please.

The audio system seems to rip CDS to a HDD.
The radio still receives a Japanese station
The TV picks up some local channels but only audio
The GPS still reads Japanese cities but is active, as if we are driving in Japan!

Plesae contact me if you might be able to help with providing English language instructions manuals, or information about how software might be updated to srilanka GPS and English instructions.

Cheers experts!

Change the CD in the GPS system?

Look in the trunk, theres a panel that says navigation on it. just pull out panel and slide over the button cover. turn the car on, then hit the eject button, insert new disc and let it load all the way. just watch the nav screen for it to finish.

Hello OT.

I'd suggest the first place to look would be your fuse box.

Lexus RX 350 GPS system

I have a related problem with a 2007 RX350. I was told by the dealer no less that there is a way fo disableing the power on prompt that asks you to agree not to use the GPS while driving. Its really annoying to have to press this each time you sart the car. I am worried that in the long run that this will lead to a failure of the touch screen. Any body know what the secret handshake is? I can be reached on hotmail if that helps. Fred0723

Installing the DVD Map Disc Your dealer/retailer may have installed the map DVD. If the map DVD was not installed, do the following to load it:
Read the following steps completely.
  1. Turn the ignition on. The vehicle must be in P (Park) to perform this operation.
  2. Press (power) to turn the navigation system on.
  3. Press the NAV hard key.
  4. Touch the Insert Map Disc screen button. The screen opens to access the map DVD slot.
  5. Load the map DVD partway into the slot. The system pulls it in. The screen cannot be closed until a double beep is heard.
Notice: Pressing directly on the navigation screen may cause damage. Repairs would not be covered by the vehicle's warranty. Do not press directly on the navigation screen.
  6. To close the screen, slightly push up on the two outer corners until the screen is in position. Then push the screen in by pushing on the four outer corners until a click is heard.
  7. Set the search area. See "Setting the Search Area" earlier in this section.
Ejecting the DVD Map Disc The navigation portion of the system cannot be used if the DVD map disc is not loaded.
  1. Press the MENU key to enter the Menu options, then press the MENU key repeatedly until Nav is selected or touch the Nav screen button.
  2. Touch the Map Database Information screen button.
  3. Touch the Eject Map Disc screen button. The screen tilts, exposing the map DVD slot.
  4. Press the eject button, located next to the DVD map disc slot, and the disc ejects. Pull the disc out. The screen cannot be closed until a double beep is heard.
Notice: Pressing directly on the navigation screen may cause damage. Repairs would not be covered by the vehicle's warranty. Do not press directly on the navigation screen.
  5. To close the screen, slightly push up on the two outer corners until the screen is in position. Then push the screen in by pushing on the four outer corners until a click is heard.

Lincoln navigation dvd

On my '06 Navigator the navigation dvd goes in a slot on the console to the left of the passenger's feet. There's a removable panel.

On a side note... does anyone have a newer dvd for Canada? The one that came with my vehicle is compile for the Quebec (*gasp*) market and is outdated.
