Could be crankshaft position sensor. vacum leak, you really need to have it scaned with a scan tool.could be out of time. there are alot of could be.....without a scan tool reading you will spend alot of money on unessarey things and may not fix the problem

hi there,

just to make sure everything is operating fine, i would check the order of the wires on the cap and make sure they are in the right order so they are firin the right cylinder at the right time. if the miss you are having is as bad as it is, and letting it die, to the point it won't idle, i would start with that. Buy a little haynes manual from canadian tire, and follow the spark plug wire diagrams in the manual. Trace each wire individually, and relocate if necessary. try that to start. good luck.

Pull the plugs. Sounds like you have a bad plug or a bad plug wire. Even an engine that misses will run well at high speeds but if it's missing at idle you might have a little oil on one of the plugs. I had a 91 tercel, ran great but leaked a lot of oil which would in turn foul the spark plugs. I'm sure you either have a bad wire or plug. Wouldn't mess with the idle, not sure what state you're in but it could impact emissions testing. Best of luck m'friend!
