I have a 2001 chevey blazer 4wd its cranking but wontstart

    I have a 2001 4wd v-6 chevey blazer s10 that wont start. it turns over the battery is good its getting fuel and the distributer cap is new

    Ive tried all of that nothing works however i forgot to mention the problem only occors in the morning and the evening the rest of the time no problem

If your spark plugs have not been changed for many miles, even if you have 100,000 mile plugs, It is highly probable that you just need to throw in a new set. Put a new plug in one of the wires , ground the plug, turn the motor over just to check for spark. Living in Minnesota, I have saved many a neighbor that was late for work by pulling out there old plugs , closing down the gap to the recommended settings, putting the old plugs back in, and having the machine start right up. If this is gets you running consider also replacing the cap, rotor, and, wires. These can all make a big difference in winter.

    If it starts during the day , have you tried spraying the wires with water to see if they are arcing/shorting. In the morning and evening dew/condensation could be the cause. A new cap and rotor help but did you reuse the old wires? Have you checked that all the ground cables for the engine compartment are not corroded and making good contact? A trick to fight moisture issues is to spray down the affected components with silicone spray when everything is dry. This repels moisture and keeps wires from shorting when wet.

What I always suggest is take a little starting fluid and spray in the air cleaner. If the vehicle starts then it is a fuel problem. If it doesn't start it is a computer or electrical problem. If the starting fluid starts the truck, then the next step is check the fuel pump. You can do this by removing the gas cap, have someone put their ear down by the fuel fill. And turn the key to the on position. You should hear the fuel pump run for about 5 seconds. This is the most common problem. You have to drop the fuel tank and replace the fuel pump in the top of the fuel tank.

    Is your check engine light on? Now that you say that it only happens in the morning and after it has ran. Then you should check your coil and mass air flow sensor. If the check engine light is on, you can take it to Autozone and they will put it on their diagnostics computer for free. And it will tell you if it is the mass air flow sensor or the coil. Well the coil will come up as a misfire on #1, #2 or something. You will see misfires.

Shift solenoids are loacted inside the transmission. You need to drop the transmission pan and you will see the solenoids there.

Hi my name is chris i have a 2001 chevy blazer 4x4 for so reason it keeps putting itself into 4x4 when i stop at a light or stop sign and won''t let me put it back into 2 wheel drive ?


There's been a lot of problems with the 4wd systems on the blazers of that vintage. The only sure way to track down the cause is to have the system scanned. Some of the most commom causes are: the switch in the dash, - the control module, - the transfer case . There are other issues if it has auto 4wd as the ABS system is tied into that system to activate it when the sensors sense wheel slippage. If your blazer has the auto 4wd funtion and has a ABS light on, it could be in the ABS system.
IF you could get it back into 2wd, you could pull the fuse to the 4wd to dis-able untill you have a chance to have it scanned.

your bearings. thats what it sounds like to me. if it almost sounds like you have a big rock just jumbling around in your tire thats most likely your bearings. its pricey but its worth it to get it fixed. if thats not it check into your transfer case and your shocks

2001 Chevy 4wd won't go into 4wd.


there is a module on transfer case above front drive shaft this module is bad but there are two styles so you will need the part number off of yours

My theftlock somehow got activated on 1992 chevy caprice now car won start how can i deactivate it


Try turning the ignition on ( do not crank ) wait about 20 minutes. This may reset the security. Sometimes you may have to do this a couple times but each time wait a little longer

I just bought a 2001 blazer 4.3 4wd and it was stuck in 4 low


It should tell you on the Shifter whether or not that you can Shift on the Fly. Check the Manual first if there is one in the Truck. Some Models had this and some Did not. Was an Extra from Factory Option.
