Question about 1994 Dodge Dakota Club Cab

1 Answer

Brake lights do not work on my 94 Dodge Dakota. All other light do work, and these are all on the same bulb. I was told it might be the brake light switch by the brake pedal, but I can't find it. Is there one or is there some other kind of relay? Thanks, Randy

It does sound like the brake light switch has failed. The switch is located on the brake pedal bracket. I have enclosed two pics for your use.Brake lights do not work - 1994%20dakota%20bl%20switch.jpg

I hope this helps!

Check the switch on the brake pedal first, then if you have power to it and power goes out when pedal is pushed you probably have a broken wire under the chasis

1995 Dodge Dakota signal light and brake lights quit

I had the same problem that the brake light / turn signal on the right side didn't work (in the 2006 Dodge Caravan it's the same bulb). After a long search I found the problem: There was corrosion on the contact of the bulb assembly. After scraping off the corrosion everything works now.

The fuse for the brake lights also powers the ABS control module. Check the brake light fuse.

2004 dodge dakota. brake lights not working but bulb is good. taillights and turn signals are working. Is there a mechanical switch by the brake pedal to look for??

there is a switch above the brake pedal that turns the brake lights on when u depress the pedal, use a volt meter set to DC volts and check for voltage to the switch and out of it when the brake pedal is depressed, see p[icture of switch belowe364f34.jpg

No brake lights

There is a switch under the brake pedal ,probably this has gone ,you must change it,when you press the brake pedal, the pedal hits the switch then it lights the brake bulb ,check for this switch.

I have a 1997 Dodge Dakota who ABS light and Brake

when brake light is constantly on it normally means the rear brake light dont work (bulb blown) ABS normally means sensors pushed too far or teeth on abs cv axle could be damaged or bent. check that first.
