Question about 1998 Audi A4
2010 audi oil light flashes intermittently
Posted on Dec 09, 2012
Have you checked the engine dipstick to ensure that the oil level is correct? A very low oil level will cause light to come on. Top up oil if necessary. If oil level is OK, then it is possible that the warning light pressure switch which is screwed into the engine oil pressure system is faulty and setting off light and needs replacing. There could even be oil leaking out of the switch. The switch is usually located near the oil filter and will have a wire connected to it.
If after replacing switch and light still comes on, it would mean badly worn engine bearings.
