check wire contacts in socket. If they are melted change the socket
It can be removed easily just unplug the wires.
I have replaced both front sockets on my 1999 Buick Century.
Hope this helps.

SOURCE: turn signal not working
i had this same problem and i alleviated it by replacing the column switch which isnt an easy task and I used a manual (which can be obtained at the library for free or you can buy one at your loccal book or auto parts shop)

If the plug has corrosion on it there is a possibility that the plug has gone bad or shorted out. If the wires look burnt there is a good chance the plug has been burnt. You can also check to see if you are getting voltage when the switch is on with the bulb out.
