Hi. Temperature will surely rise up whenever you turn on the AC. Because compressor is connected to the engine and if compressor will kick in it will add up resistance to the engine. But, not to the point that the engine will overheat. Is there any irregularities on the engine?

Try to check the water pump. It belong also to the cooling system of the engine. You might need to replace that one.

The water pump was replaced in june of this year.

I replaced the temp coolant sensor thermostat and radiator and the tep still goes up to 212 to 225 is this normal

It depends on the ambient air temperature and whether or not the AC is being used. Once the thermostat opens the engine coolant temperature can run from 210-230 degrees. So your good.

What is the safe coolant temp in a 1989 Cadillac Eldorado

225-230 deg F is what the Caddy forum says. 250 F can be tolerated briefly when towing, going up a mountain etc.

My 1992 vette runs over 220 closer to 250-260 than the fans come on . what would slve the problem a new thermostst ?

Yes, most likely your thermostat is bad and your car is overheating. Its a simple job and even for your vette it shouldnt be more than 20 bucks for a new thermostat. Hope this helps! (rate if useful)

COBALT TEMP GAUGE READS 250 DEGREES BUT ENGINE RUNNING COOL REPLACED COOLANT TEMP SENSOR AND STILL GAUGE GOES TO 250 DEG

Probably the temp gauge itself. Most of the time it doesn't have a problem but sometimes they do go bad. Did the car ever overheat prior to changing the solenoid?

1990 vette runs fine after 15-20 min won't start then wait 20 -min runs fine again until i shut it off

I had the same problem. Turns out,( and I didn't believe it when I was told) but, my problem turned out to be cheap (inferiour) plugs and wired. I was reccomended to use NKG plugs and Borg-Warner wires.

Vym?nit senzor a bude to O.K.
