Highly probable
A broken timing belt will result in the pistons hitting the valves this can either bend or break the valves causing damage to the head and possibly to the pistons as well.

That would be a complete guess, pull the valve cover and check. Sounds like a bad cam follower to me.

Timming belt?

It is possible but stop trying to crank it. It could cause more damage than what is already done. If it is the timing belt it could bend the valves and all kind of bad stuff. Better call the tow truck and take it to the shop.

Ford Focus - 12 years old, broke timing belt. The garage is saying I need a complete new cylinder head. I suspected it was the timing belt and expected several bent valves at worst. My question is...

Here at my repair shop have never had to replace a cylinder head, due to timing belt failure, just replace bent valve's and machine head.

Cam belt broke while driving at 30 mph tried to align camshaft cannot turn it, does this mean pushrods bent

High probability here. You may need to strip down part of the engine to find out what has been damaged here.Hope this helps.

What type of engine is in a 2001 Ford Focus? The timing belt broke sitting at a stoplight and we were told if it were a certain kind of engine then more than likely nothing was damaged.

Sounds like a zetec 16v that is the most common engine in the year focus. they are like poeple say a "safe engine" they tend not to damage the valves when the belt go's although there is still a possibility.

If you where sat at the lights then you should be ok.

Hope this was helpful

Can not find timming marks on cam gears

Ther are none. It takes a tool to hold the cams in place while the valve cover is removed. Get a chilton book from the library.

Remove and replace timming belt on lanos sx 1598cc 1998 thank you

First remove head and fix the bent valves. I have worked at a Daewoo dealer. People would buy the belt and come right back to get valves and gaskets. Daewoo timing belts must be replaced every 60,000 miles.
