Could just be a dead battery.have you tried to jump it off? are your battery cables tight? if all this is good, then most likely only a bad starter. hope this helps!!

The clicking is the solenoid ... you probably have a dead battery. Get a friend to junp it for you and go to the auto parts place where they can test it for you ... and if necessary, sell you a replacement. Simple.

I have a 2005 Tahoe with 43,000 miles and it will not start. It is not the battery. When you turn on the key all it will do is click and all light will come on.

Most likely the battery--even though you say no

If the battery is new ,then the solenoid on the starter
or the starter it's self

Car won't turn over, has power to dash from ignition

ignition switch. the one in the column where the key goes into. not exactly an easy replacement due to the airbag location as sometimes the mount screrws for the key switch retainer will be between the wheel and the column assembly requiring the wheel to be removed.

2005 Chrysler town & country touring won't turn over.

Sounds like you need a starter, or you have a loose wire somewhere under the hood.

How do I replace the starter on a 2000 Dodge Intrepid?

Before changing a starter, you need to do some testing. First, check that your battery is holding 12v or better. Next, check that there is 12v at the main connection on the starter. Then chjeck that with the key turned to "start" there is 12v at the small terminal on the starter. If not, check the relay that operates the starter.(it may be bad). If readings are good, and block ground and positive cable is connected and clean, replace starter.
To remove starter, disconnect positive cable from battery, unbolt starter, remove harness. Sometimes removal involves twisting unit and manuvering around stuff that's in the way. If you find that does not work, then remove whatever is keeping it from coming out. Yes: it comes out from underneath. (unless you see an obvious clear path to remove from above there is no set rule, just do what's easier) Replacement is the opposite of removal...no tricks. If your radio has an anti theft code, know it before you start or after you are finished it won't work. You will loose settings though.
good luck

Engine will not start

That Clicking Sound is Coming from the Starter. First check the Starter Relay. It should be in a Fuse Relay Box under the Hood. If this is good, The Problem will be the Starter and will need to be Replaced. Also Check the Tension on the Belt. If the Belt is even a little loose it will not allow the Alternator to Charge the Battery and will cause a Not Start. Let me know what you find out.
