Purchase an insert! You will have to drill the hole and then thred it and then screw in the insert that is sized to you bolt. Get a good quality one! $3-$5

Thermostat housing bolts wont tighten up

Pull the housing off and check if the threads are stripped where the bolts screw in. On aluminum, threads can get easily stripped from over tightening. A shop can use tap and die tools to rethread the holes. It shouldn't cost too much.

Strip bolt on transmission and leaks oil. How can i fix that problem?

you have to see if the bolt or the hole is striped,if its just the bolt you can get 1 at any automotive store,if its the hole then you are going to have to use a tap and die kit and rethread the hole and use a different size bolt for the new hole size.

2000 dodge durango slt, driver side caliper top bolt hole is stripped, can it be rethread or how can i fix

There should never be short cuts taken when dealing with the braking system. Its much safer and time consuming to buy a new bracket and caliper.

Im replacing the water pump on my 1994 f350 with the 460 engine. I have one bolt on the pump that will not tighten. What do you suggest I try?

Bummer, your only option is to address why the bolt will not tighten, either the wrong bolt (too short) or stripped threads. If threads are stripped, use a helicoil to repair. Be certain to allow straight access as this step must be perfect or larger problems will result.

What are the cylinder head torque specs for a 1999 cadillac deville 4.6l

I can help you with this but I have to ask one question. Have you already taken this apart and putting it back together? Did you rethread all the head bolt holes because they strip out when you tighten them and you will ruin the head gaskets. Let me know, I have don't this job quite a few times. I'll have to look up the actual torque specs. Also you are wanting the spec for the cylinder head bolts and not the cylinder head cover bolts right?

The bolt threads are stripped on my auto battery. How do I repair so the terminal bolt will stay tight?

If it is the bolt that is stripped you can buy a new bolt at any parts store, if the threads in the battery are stripped, well you can get one of those at the parts store as well. You can probably rethread the hole to a bigger size, or use a heli-coil thread insert, but I have never tried one of these on a battery and dont know how well it will work out.

Threads stripped.

It is an odd size, I believe 9mm thread and Heli-coil makes a kit just for this job. I know because I have the kit at work! Try another Autozone or ask to speak to the manager and have him look it up, it does exist for sure. This is actually a pretty common problem. If you're still stuck tomorrow and I will dig up the part number and post it.

Stripped head on a brake caliper bolt

I would try either vise-grips if you can get at it otherwise you may have to get a set of easy-outs. They work by you drilling a hole into the bolthead and then as you turn them they tighten in the opposite direction thereby loosening the bolt .. be sure to put alot of penetrating fluid wherever you can to get in and around the bolt shaft and threads ...
