Heres what you do..i did this and it worked first try. Take your car and drive it off a loading dock, and make sure your windows are open all the way so you don't break a window. Should do the trick. Keep us posted

My car sounds like a jet taking off the faster I go

If it sounds like a jet taking off then it's most likely some rush of air so where/how does air under pressure come from? Well, it comes from your exhaust but you said that's been replaced. Could be a cylinder head gasket in a engine but you would have felt a lose of power if that was the problem.
Is it a bearing that just sounds like an air sound? As I've suggested with other people...have someone follow you, then pull up along side of you on both sides and see if they can hear/isolate where the sound is coming from.

Sometimes when you're driving it's hard to hear exactly where the sound is coming from because well....you're driving!
So having two people in another car riding along side of you on the highway or unpopulated back road can hear it better.

Just remember to do it safely...you are on the road after all but if you hear it at 40...you should be able to hear it loud and clear at 55 or 65 or whatever the speed limit is.

Going too slow on the highway is dangerous too so obey the speed limits.

78 mark V 460 : humming noise at acceleration and between a range of rpm

Exhaust touching under somewhere when engine torque increased, Egr tube, or anti-backfire valve at rear of engine etc. Other possibilities, Motor mount (especially opposite side) , transmission mount. Have you tried brake torque to see how much engine shifts? Once your up to higher speeds, less torque required to push that Big thing down the road. ha ha.
What type of noise is it, if you can describe? Have U-joints been checked?

My traction control light as well as ABS and service light came one brought it to the mechanic this morning and he scanned it couldn't find anything light came offf and he told me it could be the abs...

Depending on vehicle it is I'd be looking for a bad front wheel bearing. The hubs come with a new sensor anyway. Once the bearing is worn it changes the air gap between sensor and exciter wheel and can give a false reading to the ABS unit. Has your ABS ever activated when coming to a stop sign (even when the roads are dry?). Do you hear a loud humming noise on highway?

I have a 2001 Oldsmobile Silhouette and the traction active light comes on and makes a growling noise when you begin to take off and turn the steering wheel. How do I solve this problem?

the traction control system watches wheel speed thru the wheel speed sensors. it was designed to aid in traction in slippery conditions. when one of the wheels loses traction and the system sees an abnormal insrease of speed in one of the wheels the system will activate and derate the power to avoid wheel slippage. going around a corner the outside wheel will spin faster then the inside wheel. under normal acceleration nothing will happen, however under heay acceleration you may be causing a wheel to break free, especially on wet roads. you could have a speed sensor problem but i would expect you would also have an antilock problem. try a slower acceleration around corners then try a heavy acceleration, if it was ok on normal acceleration but activated on heavy acceleration then your going to have to lighten up on the pedal a bit. otherwise the system should be scanned for codes. i never liked this system much and it wasen,t around too long. good luck!

After 2 foot snow and riding on snow packed roads, rumbling noise from under car.

With all due respect, what the H___ are you doing driving in 2 Feet of SNOW? The rumbling noise you hear is most likely caused from Snow being impacted in the CV Joints, Wheel Wells and anywhere else from freezing in place after driving in the "Deep Snow". The solution is to have the care raised on a Hoist and Pressure Washed to remove all Snow and Ice from the the entire Bottom Side of the Vehicle. It then should be allowed to dry thoroughly in that building before being driven. Additionally, if any noises occur upon exiting that facility turn around and have it repaired before it costs you untold thousands of dollars to repair.

Next time you have "DEEP SNOW" wait until the Roads have been cleared, salted or sanded and are back down to pavement before driving on them.

4 wheel drive (auto locking hubs) seems to be trying to engage.

I had the same thing happen. The automatic locking hubs are faulty, causing one or both hubs to try to engage or disengage onto the front driveshaft. This makes the clicking noise and loud clunking that you hear. You may notice your steering pulling to one side of the road, because one hub is locked in. Replace the automatic hubs with new ones, do not try to fix the old ones. I liked the
convience of automatic hubs but replaced mine with manual hubs, there just way more reliable.
