The security Module is faulty. The circuitry has gone bad in it. Replacing the module is the only option to remedy this

Truck will not start anti theft will not shut off

The security light illuminates when that signal gets broken, or not seen at all. When the communication breaks, the car misinterprets this as an attempt at theft and goes into antitheft mode. (like it thinks it's being hot wired) The car shuts down because it is not getting that signal from YOUR specific key. This is why the security light turns on and shuts down your vehicle. It will either turn off the starter, or the fuel injectors. The vehicle may run for 2-3 seconds before shutting down. This link explains it pretty well.

How do i reset the alarm on my 2003 Chevy Trailblazer...I can't stay my truck.

Hello Narisol,

Excerpt from the 2003 Owners Manual.

Passlock

Your vehicle is equipped with the Passlock theft-deterrent
system. Passlock is a passive theft-deterrent system.
Passlock enables fuel if the ignition lock cylinder is turned with a valid key. If a correct key is not used or the ignition lock cylinder
is tampered with, the fuel system is disabled and the vehicle
will not start. During normal operation, he SECURITY light
will turn off approximately five seconds after the key is turned to
RUN. If the engine stalls and the SECURITY light flashes,
wait about 10 minutes until the light stops flashing before trying
to restart the engine. Remember to release the key from START as
soon as the engine starts. If the engine does not start after
three tries, the vehicle needs service. If the engine is running and the
SECURITY light comes on, you will be able to restart the engine
if you turn the engine off. However, your Passlock system is not
working properly and must be serviced by your dealer. Your vehicle is not protected by Passlock at this time. You may also want to
check the fuse. See Fuses and Circuit Breakers on page 5-85.
See your dealer for service. In an emergency, call the M
Roadside Assistance Center. See Roadside Assistance Program on
page 7-5.

Excerpt from the 2003 Owners Manual.

Testing the Alarm The alarm can be tested by following these steps:
1.
From inside the vehicle, Iower the driver's window and open
the driver's door.
2.
Activate the system by locking the doors with the power door
lock switch while the door is open, or with the remote keyless entry transmitter.
3.
Get out of the vehicle, close the door and wait for the SECURITY light to go out.
4.
Then reach in through the window, unlock the door with the manual
door lock and open the door. This should set off the alarm. When
the alarm is set the power door unlock switch is not operational.
If the alarm does not sound when it should but the headlamps flash, check to see if the horn works. The horn fuse may be blown. To
replace the fuse, see Fuses and Circuit Breakers on page 5-85.
If the alarm does not sound or the headlamps do not flash, the
vehicle should be serviced by your dealer.

My s type 3 liter v6 petrol engine jag does not get driven very frequently,so battery seems to discharge very quickly, fires up fine on a jump start, but then dies after 20 seconds .can you put me rite.

Before jumping the battery, check it with a meter to see what voltage it is. For 12v batteries a fully charged battery should be 12.7 volts. Anything less that that will decrease it's starting capacity and likely cause it to develop a self destructive process if allowed to get below 12.4 volts. The more advanced a car is the more it seems to have parasitic loads that consume battery when the vehicle is supposedly turned off (car alarms, remote key-less entry and so on).

If you are going to leave any vehicle unused for any period of time that causes the voltage to fall below the 12.4 - 12.5 volt range you should do one of two things, either disconnect the battery (unless you need the car alarm) or put it on a battery maintainer (trickle charger).

Once the vehicle is running, make sure the alternator charging voltage measured at them battery terminals is in the upper 13 volt range, or you have a charging issue and only a new battery will be able to sustain the engine under that condition for any length of time. Vehicles with electronic controls require a battery voltage of a certain voltage or it will shut down.

If it isn't a battery issue, then you have a bigger problem I can't resolve for you. Before I forget, every attempt at starting ANY auto engine is going to require the car charging system to run several minutes to replenish what was used to for each attempt, my guess is about 10 - 15 minutes depending on the air temperature.

My alarm goes off intermittently

Try resetting the alarm, using the instructions given at the link below. I'll also copy the text here.

  1. Insert the ignition/door key in the door lock on the driver's- side door of your Mountaineer.
  2. Turn the key to the lock position.
  3. Turn your key to the unlock position.
  4. Turn your key to the lock position.
  5. Turn your key to the unlock position. Your alarm is now disabled. If your key fob works, you can also press the unlock or alarm-disable button on the fob.
  6. Start the Mountaineer's engine and allow the vehicle to run for at least 10 minutes. This will allow the alarm to relearn the default settings. You must make sure that you have disabled the alarm first, however, before you attempt to start the vehicle, so that the alarm will reset itself.

If these instructions don't work, you can try resetting the car's computer by unplugging the battery for half an hour. However, that will reset the keyless entry code, as you can see in the fixya article I link to at the bottom

Hi, when egnitin is turned to the on position and the engine is turning its not making any attempt to fire, when the key is truned in the off position all the dash lights are still illuminated and wont go...

For the fuses, if you have the owners manual it should show you which fuse goes where. If it is not labeled on the fuse box cover, check your owners manual.

If the alarm is the reason your car wont start, make sure the hood is down, door closed (if its a manual transmission, in neutral and brakes applied) I don't know very much on alarm systems, Just that there is a hood switch, so the hood (aka Bonnet) must be shut and latched before the vehicle will start.

after that's all sorted out, it would be good to check if you have spark, fuel and compression (those are the three key factors for an engine to start)

I hope this helps, let me know what you have done.

How can I reset my Factory Alarm on my Jeep it wont run

Alarm Module Reset Procedure
NOTE: This information applies to a Vehicle Theft Security System (VTSS) that was armed when the battery was disconnected and reconnected.
When the armed VTSS senses that the battery has been disconnected and reconnected, it enters its power-up mode. In the power-up mode the alarm system remains armed following a battery failure or disconnect. If the VTSS was armed prior to a battery disconnect or failure, the system will have to be actively or passively disarmed following a battery reconnection.
The power-up mode will also apply if the battery goes dead while the system is armed and battery jump-starting is attempted. The engine no-run feature will prevent the engine from starting until the alarm system has been actively or passively disarmed.
Passive disarming of the Vehicle Theft Security System (VTSS) occurs when the vehicle is unlocked using the key to unlock either front door or the lift gate. Active disarming of the VTSS occurs when the vehicle is unlocked by depressing the Unlock button of the Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) transmitter.
Once the alarm has been activated (horn sounding, lights flashing, and the engine no-run feature), either disarming method will deactivate the alarm.
Depressing the Panic button (if equipped) on the RKE transmitter will also disarm the VTSS, but the horn will sound and the lights will flash for about three minutes as part of the Panic feature. The horn and lights can be stopped by pressing any of the RKE transmitter's buttons or driving the vehicle above 15 mph.

Changed the battery. The alarm went off, tried to reset but will not work. When driving push on the brakes and the car shut down. Is this an alarm issue or an electrical engine issue. Don't know what to...

Yes this is an Alarm issue that's why your vehicle is shutting down as soon as you press on the brake pedal. Is this an aftermarket alarm or stock alarm? Sounds like aftermarket alarm to me and if it is, the way fix this issue is as soon as you put the red n black terminal on the battery and the alarm goes off press your alarm key right away to turn it off. If this doesn't work put your key on the ignition after you have installed the battery and just put it on the "ON" position engine OFF then click on your alarm remote once again.
