Question about 2004 GMC Yukon

1 Answer

Recently bought a 2004 Yukon Denali with navigation system and XM radio built in. Tried to activate XM radio, but I am only getting 2 stations with sound. The other stations that I see on the display dont have sound, and I am not recieving all the stations. I also found while on the XM option on the radio, I access the options menu and see a lock symbol next to the category seek and category scan option. I looked in the manual, but it does not explain how to unlock those options. Any help would be appreciated.

I keep kicking myself in the rear end for selling my Tech2 with my old shop. The XM radio was working when I first purchased the vehicle, but the subscription ran out after 2 weeks. I was hoping to not have to go to the local dealership due to the fact that I own a repair shop a few miles from them and they don't particularly care for me in their service dept. They kinda quoted me an inflated price to diagnose and/or reprogram the unit(if it can be done). Thanks for the reply.

Once the unit is plugged in it marries it self to the vehicle VIN and will only operate on that vehicle. Sometimes a dealership can reprogram it but not always the case. In your case, since it is not completely locked out, the dealership should be able to reprogram it.

Probably better off getting another newer device. I will keep looking to see if there is any information on how to program/reprogram these.

I can't find an xm station in the 2006 impala LS that I bought, but onstar ran the vin number of the vehicle and its telling me that's the radio is xm ready

Try www.xmradio.com This is where you can get info on activating your XM radio. It will cost you about $13 a month and an activation fee. You will need the radio's ID number. If you already know this and dont have the owners manual, stop by a dealer to get it going.

When you try to pair your iPhone 4, what message does the iPhone prompt you after you enter in the passcode?
Have you tried making sure your iPhone was disconnected from any other headset around you?

I have a 2006 Yukon xl Denali with the Bose radio/ Navigation and separate 6 disc cd changer. The am/fm radio works fine, but when using XM, the channels get stuck and have to be turned manually.

generally it would just need to be reset... unhook the battery for about ten minutes and hook it back up. make sure you have the unlock code for the radio FIRST and you know how to enter it.

Navigation system at Yukon xl 2008 does not read the map DVD

I shipped my 2006 Yukon Denali from USA to Saudi Arabia. When I to purchase the Middle East map DVD for the navigation system. GM Navigation answered me that they do not have the middle east DVD and I should contact the European branch. The dealer in Saudi Arabia is asking for $1200 for the disc and I know it is worth no more than $400. Could you please direct me to someone who sells the 06 Denali navigation map DVD? Thanks..
