For 1991 Jaguar XJ6 4.0L EFI DOHC 6cyl the Control Module-Ignition is located under hood, passenger side, front engine area, mounted on front side of radiator support.

And, the Relay - Ignition is located front seating area, driver side, driver side of steering column, behind lower dash panel, mounted in relay block.

Hope helps.

Repair ignition amplifier in 80;s and early ninetis jaguar xj6 and xj1 for no...

Locate ignition amplifier box by following wires at distributor to black box. Disconnect neg . battery lead . Disconnect plug at black box. Remove box and take cover off. Ibside you will find a GM ignition module neatly wired to the plug that exits the box. Remove and have it tested at any major parts chain for free. If it is bad, have them find the part by crossreferencing the number. Don;t tell them it is for a jag or they might charge you more. Part should cost less than fifty bucks. I priced one over 15 years ago and it was over three hundred dollars.
