Question about Subaru Outback

1 Answer

My husband's hearing isn't so great. We have a '94 Subaru Outback. Good car but the turn signal is not loud enough. Besides getting a new, car can anything be done? If nothing, what cars have the loudest signals?

Hi, it is possible to have a 12 buzzer or bell installed all you need to do is take your car to your local garage and explain to them your husbands hearing is not so good and you would like some sort of buzzer fitted onto the indicator tell them you have been told all it needs to be is wired into the wires that go to the bulbs, this can be done.
you may need to go to an electronics store to get a simple 12 volt buzzer but once you have this any auto electrician would be able to wire this in for you.

as for getting a new car their all about the same when it comes to sound levels as they are all pretty quiet so a new car wouldnt improve things for your husband. all you need is some sort of 12volt bell or buzzer and most electronic stores will see these, you need to make sure you dont get one thats so loud it deafens you but if you ask a worker in the store they will be able to sort you out, then just take this into your local garage and they should be able to help you out.

i hope this has been some help to you and i wish you all the best with getting this sorted. if i was over your side of the world i could come and have a go at it myself but i am based in the UK in Birmingham but if you are in the UK then i could help but the chances are your in the USA.

let me know if you need further assistance

2003 Subaru outback h6 3.0. Starts fine, when I shift into reverse or drive I get a loud grinding noise

Is your 2003 Subaru Outback automatic or manual transmission?
If it is automatic, then your transmission sounds like it's malfunctioning into the reverse gear as it is not aligning properly.
If it is manual, then your transmission sounds like it may have a bad clutch or bad reverse gear.
Either solution is not cheap. Good luck.

I would suspect a mount. Either motor or trans. Also check lateral mount on top of motor to firewall. Good luck and have a great day.

2005 Subaru Outback - cruise control cuts out when turn signal is used. This problem is intermittent, but increasingly persistent.

This is an ongoing problem with the 2005 subrau. Mine went out seven time in a period of three years. Traded it for a 2008. Take it back to the Subrau dealer or write to Subrau. If yoou raise enough hell they will replace the unit. They replaced mine seven times.

Flashing relay clicking

If your parking lights are flashing also, I would have to guess that the battery has been disconnected recently. If so there is a small, 4" x4" box on drivers side under dash by colomn that has a small red button on it. Push this button for a few secounds and that should fix your problem. Hope this helps and have a good day.

sounds like a poor connection in the fuse box, or a bad ground.

2000 subaru outback/ clunk when i put it in reverse

Turn off engine . get the vehicle on level ground. try to move driveshaft back an forth or,by rocking in twist motion,,, try to hear a knock,,,this would indicate a worn universal joint.either front or back, if you are good enough to discern which one is making the klunk, change both to be on the safe side. think they may be about 20 dol apiece.
