Question about 2003 Chevrolet Impala

1 Answer

The 2003 Chevy Impala I have keeps over heating. My father used a flushing kit to help it. It was okay for about two days after that then it started overheating again. Now when I turn on the A/C it only works on the volume 1,2 and 5 3 and 4 dont work. After a minute or so of the A/C running it starts making this scretching sound and when I turn the A/C off it the noise stops. What should I do? My father says its a fan problem? What is it? Please help!

Sounds like your drive belt is slipping on the A/C pulley as far as the noise, could be the A/C pulley clutch going out. On the overheating, check for a high point air bleed valve or bolt. I have many times had air trapped in the block that causes over heating. Also check that the thermostat is installed in correct direction.

I have a 2000 chevy impala my heat doesn't work,

first it to verify the coolant flow. I suspect the heater core isn't flowing, you may need to take a garden hose and take both heater hoses off, and flush in both directions to clean the heater core. flush in both directions until you get clean water flow. I am assuming the coolant level is OK, and the water pump is pumping and the engine is getting warm enough.

No heat after radiator flush on my 2002 impala

You probably loosened some gunk that blocked the heater core. You should be able to flush those out. If you have never disconected the heater hose you may want to purchase a flush kit for that. It is a T that you cut into the hose at a convenient point, and connect a hose to the T. If you can figure out what direction the normal flow is, flush in opposite direction.

Check trans fluid level. May need to flush trans fluid and filter and adjust bands. First gear and reverse are first to go out. Low fluid level would cause slipage
