Question about 1998 Dodge Ram 1500 4WD
Im a mechanic i got a 96 ram- randomly occuring grinding noise coming out of my front diff. i replaced the vaccum shift motor assembly on my day off, took 7 hours and kicked my ***, im thinkin the problems gona be fixed i get 100 yards out of the shop and the same noise is goin on. ITS REALLY STUMPING ME couple of other options that im going to go after next- the shift fork is bent, the splines on the axle are damaged and now theres metal floating around in the fluid, transfer case out of adjustment, or some kind of vaccum problems i belive it runs off of transmisson vaccum because the lines run that way not towards the motor. hope that can help if i solve my problem ill give an update
