Most likely it is a Starter Solenoid or ignition switch if starter turns but motor does not crank the bendix may not be kicking in on the starter even if it is turning also check flywheel for broken teeth.....Good Luck

SOURCE: engine not cranking
you say your motor will not crank, meaning it's not turning over at all? if that's the case your should hear a ''clicking'' noise when you try to start it idicating that your ''solinoid'' on the starter motor is defective. it pushes the bendix assembly witch pushes the starter gear into the flywheel of the engine making it ''crank'' over so it can run. that was my problem last year & it worked fine after that. this is for a 2.2 lt ecotec engine 2005. remove starter motor to check with 12 VLT battery to see if it kicks out or not. hope this helps.
