Honda crv transmission?

Hi. Honda CRV automatic 4 WD, 30K mi. 2005. 2 symptoms. 1) After slowing to, say 1 to 3 mph, if I turn and keep that speed or accelerate slowly, there is a slight chugging motion. If I am moving straight at that 1to 3 mph speed sometimes it is smooth and sometimes there is a lighter chugging motion. If I accelerate slowly or normally at that speed and go straight there is no chugging. Could it be the idle?
Symptom 2) Sometimes when I put the transmission into drive from the park position, there is the slight sound that sounds like a shovel when you stick it in snow, only a little louder. Idea?
How do I find your answer? e-mail :

I had the same problem with my 2005 CR-V. Found out the gear grease in the rear Dif. needed replaced. That took care of the problem.

2005 honda crv ex with a manual transmission. the engine speed will only go to about 2800 revolutions per minute in any gear and will not go any higher. the vehicle and engine will lose speed until the rpms get to about 2500 and then it will accelerate back up to around 2800 and do the same thing over again. this will go on until the engine is shut off and is started again. the symptoms then go away until after the next cold engine start.

The rear differential fluid has to be replaced.

It has to be Honda Dual Pump Fluid -- DO NO USE Automatic Transmission Fluid.

Your best bet is to call your Honda dealer's parts department or a good salvage yard, either will probably be happy to answer this.

What is the RMP for 2003 honda crv supposed to be when traveling between 60-80 mph

any car the rpm shouldn't exceed the 4000 round per minutes and you can check it from the sound of the car if it's so loud you should decrease the acceleration pad or give the next gear if it's manual
if it's automatic don't panic

Is Honda CRV cars four wheel drive?

The CRV is produced in both front wheel drive and four wheel drive versions. However in UK and Australia it is only available as a 4 WD as the front wheel drive option is not available in these countries.

The answer to your question therefore is that it is produced in both 2 WD and 4 WD but is dependant on what country you live in and the model variant.

Hope this helps. Please do rate my answer. Thanks.

How to change my headlights on Honda 2005 CRV

easy cheesy! Ive changed mine twice. The headlights are small bulbs. Make sure you get the right one (hi-beam vs low-beam). Unplug connector at back of bulb / headlamp unit, remove rubber weather seal (pops right ot). The bulb is held in with a small wire clip that is hard to get back on but can be done. Its spring loaded. Drop wire clip, turn bulb assya 1/4 turn, and it comes right out. Remove bulb from holder and replace. Reverse steps and VOILA!
