Question about 1987 Ford Mustang
This morning I had to crank the eng up about 5 times. It runs a bit and stalls. In the highway it runs like a champ.
Try changing your fuel filter...if it's dirty it will give symptoms identical to yours if thats not it, try changing your oil sender switch...it's located driver's side front right it looks a little like a small fuel filter ..one end screws directly into your engine, the top end connects to ONE wire. If the switch is bad , it will shut the fuel pump off "thinking" it has low oil pressure. While you are at it check your oil level. The oil pressure gauge that looks great on the dash ... is unfortunately only good for looks ... when the car is on ... it reads normal but it will also read normal if you dont have good pressure. you'll notice it doesnt move at all when you rev . your engine.
