have your car change oil regulary. timing belt must check if at normal state. or have replace it.
also tune -up your vehicle first, and try new spark plugs, distributor cap, ignition coil. also have your air filter replace maybe dirty.

Car is making funny noises and wont accelerate

I had this problem also after i washed my car engine compartment, water in spark plug compartment causes this problem. remove the wire plugs from the spark plugs and dry the compartment/spark plug sockets, also open the air filter compartment and make sure it's dry and clean. also do not forget to inspect your spark plugs also, install new ones and your car will run like new! Good Luck

check to see if you have used the rigth grade of oil. hydraulic lifters rely on right oil to remain pumped up to right pressure.

Try the spark plug wires, it sounds like you aren't getting a good spark. The distributor cap could also need cleaning or replaced. - David (you know me :-) )

Car starts fine but will not accelerate fast, pull up hills or go over 3500rpm

Sounds like the catalytic converter is plugged, have a muffler shop check it, they will most likely not charge a fee.

Daewoo Korando - spark plugs replaced. Now it is misfiring any ideas

If it ran better before you changed the plugs you can pretty much bet there lies your problem. To make sure all the plugs are on correctly slide the boot up the plug wire till you see the clip (this may not be possible on some wires), push it on the plug and then push the boot down over the plug. Check that all the wires are firmly pressed into the distributor, they sometimes get pulled out when being tugged on replacing plugs. If that's not it you may have gotten a bad plug or one could have been dropped and cracked the porcelain on the plug. Check the gap on each plug. But being sporadic and the plugs and wires recently messed with I'd guess one of the wire clips is touching but not snapped down on the plug.
