Question about 2006 Chevrolet Cobalt

1 Answer

My traction control light comes on and Power Steering is shown in the digital display. Immediately afterward the car a 2006 Chevy Cobalt (Automatic) shifts roughly like a car would when it was low on fluid. Turn the car off and restart it the T/C light goes off and it shifts fine, so I assume it isn't a problem with the transmission itself. Has happened twice 4 days apart.

Sounds like you have a loose sensor on the traction control system i would check all the sensors see if they are properly connected

Take it to a shop. Don't fool with it. It has to do with the traction control.

I've had my 2006 chevy cobalt LS since 2007 and has never had the transmission flushed.when and or should it ever be flushed?

Every vehicle should have the automatic trans fluid changes at 30,000 miles and never go over
3 years, even if the milage is less.
Also,do the power steering at the same time.

Power steering goes out, turn off car and power steering is OK for a little while then goes out again. Can't find power steering fluid input anywhere under the hood... 2006 chevy cobalt

There is a recall on the power steering just call any GM place and tell the that you have a recall and would like to have it fixed and it won't cost you a dime!

2006 Chevy Cobalt. My power steering goes out.

It sounds like the power steering motor is overheating pre maturely. Changing the motor should take care of the problem. What really happens is the motor reports to the power steering module that it is over heating and the module is shutting power to the motor down, the motor is actually no overheating.

2006 Chevy Trailblazer LS, dashboard lights, need a key of warning lights, one is a wrench with a car next to it and a squiggly line underneath, the other one looks like a car skidding in a triangle.

Change Engine Oil Light = wrench with a car next to it
StabiliTrak® Service Light =
car skidding in a triangle.
This light will come on if a problem is detected in the StabiliTrak® system

I have a cobalt too. I have been researching the hell out of these cars. I am not impressed. Too many problems at very little kilometers. I was wondering how bad it gets at 88,000 kilo.Your lucky you got that far. These are the problems I come up with.
Faulty electric power steering
Faulty ignition problems
Faulty steering shafts and components
faulty stabilizer mounts
Numerous electrical problems
Poor gas milage
FaultyFuel injector rail( no more room to write)
