Question about 2001 Chevrolet Blazer

I have a loose hose coming from coolant tank not sure where its connect to...radiator not getting any antifreeze. do you know where it should go?

If there is no hose going from the radiator to the Fill/Over Fill bottle it connects to the system at a small nipple at the radiator Cap. If that nipple is missing you have a problem because to my knowledge there is no repair for this, you would end up replacing the radiator to get one. This all assumes the Radiator cap is on top of the Radiator itself. I'm not sure if Chevy used a different style where the Radiator cap was actually located at a point some where on one of the lines going to the heater core, Plymouth did this on some models.

Good job of tying the heater to the antifreeze overflow.

This is a guess. Replace the radiator cap and the hose connecting the radiator to the coolant reservoir. Then fill the radiator, engine, and heater hoses completely with antifreeze solution.

When the engine heats up, the coolant expands. Excess coolant is directed to the reservoir. When the engine cools, coolant is supposed to be sucked back into the coolant system. If either the radiator cap or the overflow hose has a tiny leak, air will be sucked in instead of the antifreeze returning

Leaking water under the car when parked it just started last week.


Is the liquid clear or colored? If it is clear and you have been using the air conditioner, it is just condensation and not a problem. If the fluid is colored yellow/green or orange and feels slippery, it is coolant. This means you may have a loose hose fitting, a leaky hose, a bad radiator cap or a bad water pump. You'll need to look under and over the engine to see where the fluid is coming from. If you added fluid recently, you may have added too much and it may be coming from the overflow tank. That tank could have a leak or a loose hose going/coming from it. Good luck. Make sure you have plenty of antifreeze in the radiator and overflow tank at all times so you don't overheat the car. Check the levels while the car is cold.

  • There are two hoses on an Antifreeze reservoir tank.
  • One is to allow escape in case of unexpected back pressure or overfill of the reservoir.
  • The other will be a hose that clamps on to the radiator right below the cap on a little spout coming off the fill neck of the radiator. This hose is the actual path the antifreeze takes when the radiator is low pressure pulls the antifreeze out of the reservoir to use.

My temp gauge goes to the third line before fans come on and only the low fan comes on. I already replaced thermostat, engine coolant temp. sensor and radiator flush... any idea why high fans dont come on...


CHECK COOLANT FAN FUSES AND RELAYS. CHECK COOLANT LEVEL.MAKE SURE ITS NOT TOO LOW BECAUSE IF COOLANT TOO LOW . BY NO COOLANT AROUND OR COOLANT SENSOR NOT SUBMERGED IN COOLANT COOLING FANS WONT TURN ON.MAKE SURE YOU HAVE 50/50 ANTIFREEZE AND WATER. 2005 kia sedona 76,000 overheats the engine


My 2005 KIA Sedona started overheating in Winter 2009/2010 and was loosing antifreeze. No leaks from the heater hoses or radiator hose. No pressure in the radiator either.

I had found a site where folks were discussing the same things and someone brought up the rear heater. Apparently KIA has run steel hoses running under the chasis to the rear of the van and these rot.

I looked under the rear at the wheel well and located the lines and they were wet with antifreeze. I traced the lines to the firewall and found where the lines were connected to the coolant system and bypassed the rear heater lines.

I then filled up the radiator and overflow tank with antifreeze and started the van. I rocked the van to get air to move out of the lines and kept adding antifreeze until it was full. then used the overflow tank to top it off.

Overheating and trying to locate the radiator and the reserve coolant tank. Don't know which is which?


The radiator is usually the black tank in front of the fan. It has a silver cap (DO NOT REMOVE WHEN HOT!!!) that you can take off when the car is cold to check if there's fluid in it. The reserve coolant tank is usually a white plastic and has a hose in to that connects to the radiator. It is used to catch the extra fluid that comes out of the radiator when it warms up becasue coolant expands when it's heated. The reservior should have two marks on the side of it. One for "max fill" and one for "add". Add coolant to it if it is below the "add" line. If it's extreamly low, you'll have to add coolant a coulpe times to level it off once air gets out of the system. Your best bet is to remove the radiator cap, top it off with the right antifreeze (you can get this pre mixed) and replace the cap. Then fill the reservoir with the right antifreeze to the max fill line and drive the car until it gets warm. About 10 minutes. Then top off as necessary. I do NOT recommend using plain water to do this. If you use water it can freeze and do extensive damage to your engine. Go to your local auto parts store and ask them for the correct antifreeze. Ask them how to mix it or purchase the pre mixed kind.

I have a 2004 BMW 330i and have replaced everything in the coolant system, and my vehicle is still leaking coolant out the expansion tank, or the cap where you add coolant to the radiator. I have use OEM...


We have had some similar problems with some BMW's,the last one we replaced the expansion tank.Before we attached the upper radiator hose to the radiator we filled the engine with antifreeze through the hose.Install the hose and fill your expansion tank to the proper level and run the engine to operating temperature.

I have been leaking coolant and I do not know where it is going.. when I stop the car and walk around to the front,I smell antifreeze but see nothing leaking,, I also had to put some of the old green...


check heater core lines seems like they are dripping and hitting the exhaust,but check all hoses ,no mixing orange antifreeze and green is not going to hurt your engine but the orange is longer lasting then the green mixing them changes that by a little.

1995 ES 300 - antifreeze is draining from reserve. took to a mechanic who did diagnostic. said everything was fine. said no antifreeze in radiator so he topped off. 2 weeks later, the car is running hot...


Is the reserve tank cracked or have a deteriorated hose going to the radiator? Remove the tank to find out. A bad seal on the radiator cap can also lose fluid. A coolant leak anywhere can deplete the coolant level in the radiator and reserve tank. Check your owners manual for antifreeze type and mix ratio with water.

Tube disconnected fron antifreeze holding tank to wherever it is supposed to go keeps losing antifreeze


there is two small hose come out from reservoir. on of them(rear one) goes to coolant bypass line it is a small metal pipe goes all the way to thermostat housing other hose(front) connected to radiator.
if you lose coolant from the bottom breathing hose on reservoir you may have air in coolant system you should bleed the system.
