This ignition system utillizes COP (coil on plug) ignition, therefore there are no traditional plug wires. Insted there is an ignition coil mounted on each cam cover/ or head, they have to be unpluged and removed in order to access each plug. You will also need an extension on the 5/8" socket to get down in there. The Labor guide estimates approx 1.6 hours to do the replacement if you've never done it before and 0.5 if you have experience on it.

How to change spark plug on 02 mazda tribute

Is it a V6? For a V6 if you are standing in front of the car it will be the middle cylinder on the firewall side of the engine. You will have to remove the plastic engine cover and the intake manifold to get to it. If it were on the front side of the engine you would only have to remove the plastic cover. Since there is a good bit of work involved removing the manifold, I would suggest that you go ahead and replace all of the sparkplugs and consider replacing the coil for the one cylinder also. I have a 2001 Mazda Tribute. Mine started running rough so I decided to replace all the sparkplugs. After replacing the sparkplugs it continued to run rough. I took it to a shop and got it scanned (no cost for the scan). The scan showed the coil on the 3rd cylinder was bad. So I wound up having to pull the manifold off again to replace the coil :(
The first time it took me 1-1/2 hours to do the plugs, second time 1 hour to do the coil. Car runs great after coil replacement. Hope this helps.

What exactly is involved in a tune-up for a 2001 Dodge Grand Caravan

replacing air and fuel filters, pcv valve, sparkplugs and sparkplug wires, cleaning throtle body, thats it, note getting to rear plugs and changing them is a job need a lot of patients, may have to remove wiper bucket, to make it easier to get to rear plugs good luck make sure you use double platnium plugs, costly but correct plug, good luck.

Can i change my sparkplugs myself?

You will need a spark plug wrench amongst other things, but it should be fairly cheap. It may be worth seeing how cheap it is at the auto shop, since it shouldn't take long. It may cost about the same as the instruments needed.

Here is a step by step guide if you want to do it yourself.

Hope this answered your question. Please rate accordingly.

My CV's are clicking and i need to replace them what are the steps to replace both the Passenger and drivers side?

I've never changed cv joints on a Ford, but my experience w/ other vehicles has been the realization that it's a tough job, lots of labor involved. You can do it, but u really have to get a good repair manual so u can see illustrations, and follow the many steps involved. Pick up a Haynes or Chilton manual (available online, or many parts stores), or subscribe to an online repair source like e-mitchell. To list all that's involved here would take too much time and space. Good luck, u can do it! countrycurt0
