Check and make sure the cooling system is full and u have no leaks, look for yellow slimy fluid under the car after it is parked overnight, this temperature swing is the symptom of one of two things, low coolant level due to a leak or a leaking cylinder head gasket, have the system tested by a shop for engine combustion gases in the cooling system, also make sure the thermostat is working correctly

1st make sure the system is full of coolant, the Tstat is tested for proper operation with a special tool that reads engine temp from the computer engine coolant temperature sensor, so there is no easy way to check the Tstat without a scanner.

Why do my 2000 s-type 4.0 jaguar fan keep running when I turn off car

Your thermostat will need to be replaced. If your thermostat is opening just a couple of degrees later than it should, it will cause this problem. This is a common problem with these jags. Buy a factory unit or an aftermarket with slightly less temperature rating.

When I turn the engine off the fan under the hood keeps running for atleast 5 minutes

If you motor is Hot it is designed to run until it cools down your cooling system,,You might want to see why your car is running Hot..Is your thermostat going bad or is your radiator getting pluged up and not cooling properly? I would take this as a warning that your car is trying to tell you something..

Why does the engine fan NOT turn off on my 2002 Jaguar S Type 4.0 liter? It runs for several minutes after turning the car off and will come on while driving. I just replaced the sensor and it is still...

It would not be abnormal, so long as the fan does not come on when you switch on from cold. The fan's job is to draw air through the radiator to cool the contained liquid to a suitable working temperature. The fans sensor is activated by the temperature of the coolant. If this is a problem which worries you, try driving as gently and slowly as possible for the last mile or two of your journey. If things are normal the fan should not run on switch-off as that 'trick' will have allowed the coolant to get below the fan-kick-in temperature before you stop the engine. If your vehicle has a temperature gauge use the rteading as an indication.

I have a 2000 jag type s and the cooling fan doesn't shut-off for several minutes after I turn the ignition off. What is the solution?

There is no solution needed, this is normal and NECESSARY. It is temprature controlled, and you want it to cool.

I would check to see if the cooling fans are coming on. The fans could be bad or you may have a blown fan fuse or fan relay.
