Check a/c freon pressure, could be low, making the a/c compr. turn on and off, that will make your RPM to go up and down.

My 2006 hhr wants to die whenever I turn on heater

I am going to assume that you have the same problem when you turn on the AC as well? If so, you have a shorted blower motor. If you feel that you can replace this by yourself or with help from a friend, I recommend you do it because service shops will charge you an arm and a leg to do this "simple" replacement. More than likely your cabin are filters are clogged and your cabin air intake is not draining very well. Do it all at the same time or it will just come back to bite you.

Hhr hard start

Possibly low fuel pressure. Fuel pump going bad, fuel filter becoming plugged. Fuel pressure regulator not right. The best thing is put it on a pressure tester and see what is going on.

AC Compressor does not kick in when you turn on AC switch in cabin just blows air. '06 HHR

First thing to do is check the refigerant levels, your local parts store sells a gauge to do this. If the refigerant level is ok, you need to start checking the control circuits, The low pressure switch is one of the most common electrical failures. In many cases special tools and training is required to service and repair these systems, There not as simple as they used to be. Computers control just about everything these days

GM has come out with a recall for the steering motor for the HHR, Cobalt and a few other cars that use the steering system. I agree it's junk. I am a GM technician and see too many of these come in for repair.
The key is also a problem area. The ignition cylinder binds, The shifter can cause the key to stick in the ignition, etc.
The turn signal is not a common.
Gm customer assistance can help you.

88 f250 stalling

If it's a 7.3 deisel, your timing could have jumped one tooth or your injector pump slipped one way or another. Pull your pump, lines and gear and engrave a line straight up from the timing mark so you can see it when you reset the timing gear.

Whining noice while driving down the road.

It might be your AC compressor. When it makes this sound, turn the AC blower to O or OFF and see if it stops the noise. If it does, then see your local dealer or respected auto AC specialist.

Headlight bulb on my 2006 HHR

You have to open the hood and look inside in that corner. There are 3 screws you need to unscrew and take out the cable and replace the bulb. Then replace the cable and the screws.
