my timing belt was shredded so both sprockets were outa sync. autozone's repair guide was woefully inadequate at describing the timing marks that your drawing showed. put it back together and the motor was timed. appreciate it!

SETTING THE TIMING/93 SC400

Setting the cam timing in the SC400 incorrectly can result in valve damage and possible piston damage. If you already have it apart it may be too late. The engine has to be at TDC for the crankshaft before removal of the timing belts. Rolling the cams independent of crankshaft will cause an open valve to contact the piston.(very expensive)

Installing camshaft 93 toyota corolla 1.8

You will need to remove the t-belt. Remove the valve cover. One of the cams has a spring loaded gear on it that has a bolt hole to install a bolt on it so the second half of the gear does not loose pressure. I believe that it is the front cam. There are two dots that will line up to one another and engine should be timed if possible before disassembly begins. This will make it easier upon assembly. The gear has that to keep the rattling down as the two cams turn together. Put a bolt through and start removing the cam caps. Loosen all a little at a time so that you do not put to much pressure on any one of them. Make sure that when you start to reassemble that everything is very clean. Align cams and reassemble with plenty of either engine oil or another suitable cam lubricant. You will need to torque the cam caps and front gear to manufacturers specs. I do not have them right off hand but can get them if you are unable to find them on the internet. Good luck and let us know if there is any other questions you have during the process.

How cam i turn off my trunklight on my 92 toyota camry sedan 2200

It should be set to turn on when the trunk is open and off when closed. Replace the switch if it is defective. Disconnect the wire or bulb if you want it permanently off. Good luck!

Hi need to know what timing marks to use when replacing cams

The timing marks to use are spot-drilled on the faces of the timing gears.
The timing marks on the camshaft gears must align side-by-side, and as closest as possible on the Toyota,Camry 2.2 engine.

Please send me your e-mail address; I will send you the complete timing proceedure; the file I have is a .pdf, and FixYa will not let me upload a .pdf to the FixYa site. I suspect that your cam timing is off on the passenger side of the engine. You want the specs for a 93 V6, correct?
